Hi Michael,
Today I have bought the dvd set I'm only looking from INXS. I couldn't wait to go home and watch it and so I did. But after seeing the video of Kiss the dirt (my favourite number) I couldn't help regretting that I will never see you perform live on stage again, something I loved doing in the past. I went to see U2 last Friday in Amsterdam, the concert rocked and it was good, but I will never get a thrill like I did every time I saw you guys perform on stage. Seeing the videos of INXS made me feel sad and realise that the special thing I still have with INXS and you can never be replaced by any other band, no matter how great they are. Nevertheless, watching the videos also makes me feel like dancing and I am singing along with every song and know them all by heart!!
Anyway, I would like to say thank you for all the beautiful songs you have given us!

Love and happy birthday to Tiger,
Audrey

Watching the INXS/Rockstar it seems impossible that nobody can ever take the place of Michael Huthcence. The man was pure rock and will always be the best frontman/showman/god that will/has esisted. It is good for the band to keep the legacy of INXS alive and they are true friends to the music business and to Michael. xxx

I just wanna say that I'm sorry that he died, and that it seems like such a waste of pure talent, which is so hard to come by.

I was 12 years old when I first heard Listen Like Thieves. I was hooked. The next year Kick was released and not just me, but my older sis and about everyone else in the world went nuts. I saw INXS for the first time as they were the first band to ever play at the locally famous Fiddlers Green (now Coors) Ampitheater. I was 14 years old. It was to this day one of the greatest concerts ever. I met a crazy french girl who gave me beer and made out with me...hey I was 14 it couldn;t get any better.

I saw INXS a few more times over the years. One year, for the Full Moon Dirty Hearts tour I again brought a date as well as my older sis and another friend to the show. Afterwards we waited outside to try and meet the band. We knew they had a show the next night in Colorado Springs as my step-sis was going to that one. They fileterd out into their vans and headed to the airport. We, as well as a few other cars followed at a safe distance and a high rate of speed to the airport. They had a private jet waiting and we all clammored at the fence to get their attention. Which we did, Michael started to head over but a manager type fellow stoped him and redirected him towards the plane. This manager came over and it did happen to be a girls birthday so they took her shirt to the plane and the band signed it. After that, Michael emerged from the plane, waved and smiled. Everyone knew that he was thankful for us being such big fans and we were all excited that he took the time to acknowledge us even if it was from afar.

The last I saw them July 22, 1997, I still have the ticket stubb. Another incredibly great show. I remember taking my sis and her friend and barrelling my way down the aisle with them in tow to get them up against the stage. It meant the world to them to reach up and grab Michael (sorry, but isn't that what all the ladies wanted to do?).

Sadly I also remember going to my then girlfirend, now Fiance's house and reading the news on the on MTV. I was heart broken, the band that brought me through my teenage years, the singer that I though was so talented was gone.

The weeks following Michaels death I remember going to the bars and every jukebox was playing Never Tear Us Apart and the whole bar was singing along. I realized everyone was touched by Michaels talents and the music of INXS.

I still own every album from INXS to the Anthology. I still listen regularly and every now and then you'd hear me taering along the highway with one of their songs cranked up as loud as the stereo will go.

I was only 4 when Michael began his career, but I so fell in love with him and his band. I have maintained my adoration of them, and since passed it on to my 5 year old daughter. To quote her, “ I wish he didn't have to die, Mommy, I wanted him to make more music!” Our thoughts are with little Tiger, and all of his family.

“Watch the world argue, argue with itself. Who's going to teach us peace and happiness?” Michael, I miss you so much and still can't believe you're gone. I cry as I write this. Your voice is within me- it's so powerful! My love and thoughts go to your family and friends...

From Shabooh Shoobah to X, INXS was the soundtrack to my life...my first “real” celebrity crushes...I could never decide between Michael and Garry so I yo-yo'ed...my first concert 1988 KICK. Dogs in Space and MTV, INXS defined rock and roll to me and I was enamored in watching their creativity come to life in their videos. My thoughts and best wishes to the Hutchences and Michael's family. Live Baby Live

I was privileged to see INXS for the first time at Canada's Wonderland, God only knows how long ago, in the $7 concert series. They opened for a lesser talent, entitled “The Go Go's”. I was early for the show, so excited to finally see the band that I seemed to be the only one familiar with. I had heard their song on the pop station CFTR in Toronto, where the DJ mistakenly pronounced the bands name “inks”. Looking back now, the ignorance makes me laugh, considering what they were to become. These boys have written some of the best poetry you can imagine. If you haven't done it ever, or in a long time, sit down with an album or CD cover and read the lyrics. Not listen to them like a song but read them like a poem. Whether you are joyful, sorrowful, hopeful or in despair, there will be something there for you. I recently put Kick on the CD player, having forgotten it amongst my stack for years and realized that, unlike so much of the music from that era, it is not in the slightest dated. Then I put on Original Sin and realized that it, too, is still so applicable, so honest and pure. That led to me rediscovering and in some cases, re-purchasing in CD format, all of the INXS that I can get my hands on.

A voice like no other, in the figurative as well as literal sense, I am overjoyed to play INXS' music for my son. Even at 6 he is a fan, wanting to know what each song is about. We listen, then we read, then we discuss. There is not much on the radio these days that you can do that with. Between nonsense and foul mouths, there isn't so much poetry out there anymore. INXS rekindles my hope for the future of music and I am pleased to have called myself a fan for many, many years now. I will continue, long into the future.

Pleased to watch the evolution, despite obstacles, of one of the greatest bands in history, I humbly sign myself,

Pam Evans
