As I sit here and listen to “The one thing”, I know Michael's memory will forever live on. That song introduced me to a band and sound that defined my youth and still continues to bring insight to my current being. Here's hoping that his family will find comfort in knowing that Michael's life touched many from the sound that still reverberates throughout the globe today. May he forever rest in peace. G.

Words cannot adequately express how my heart broke at what an incredible loss on so many levels it was when Michael left this world. His voice and passion touched my soul. I never felt that he received enough credit for his gifts and all that he contributed to the culture of music. He was my generations
“Mick Jagger” only better. I only hope that he knew this and what a beautiful soul he truly was- it came through in his voice & his eyes and his amazing energy. When he sang he was bigger than life with this incredible passion and talent that came shining through like the star that he was and always will be. He was one of a kind and although it can be argued that he wasn't the best- there will never be anyone better this I know for sure. My heart goes out to those who loved him in his personal life- his dear family- his beautiful bandmates who honor & pay tribute to his memroy - my heart fills with great joy & pride - God Bless you all- I'm sure Michael is smiling & is aware of it - with great honor & love- Carol Marton

Just wanted to let you know (as I'm sure you do already) what a kind person Michael seemed to be.
I had the pleasure of attending probably one of his last few concerts here in Orlando in late 1997. I was backstage and got to meet the whole band after the show, but Michael was not in the room. He quickly peeked his head in the door, looked around and shut it without coming in. I immediately went out the door to find him standing in the hall. I asked him if he would mind taking a picture with me and he said in a happy tone “Oh, it's you”. (I had been rather close to the stage in audience) He said he would be glad to take a picture with me, I then asked him if I could give him a kiss, and he obliged. That is the picture I have in my hand right now. Me grabbing tightly to him in mid pucker. I will treasure that always and feel lucky to of actually gotten to meet him.
Just wanted all to know...
Thank you,
Linda Durham

My first experience with INXS was Listen Like Thieves in 1985. My cousin had the cassette. I've been hooked ever since. Michael is sorely missed.

You had IT ALL MIKE!
You were so so so so BEAUTIFUL in every possible way that anyone can imagine.
You were the most magnetic and charistmic rock performer without all the trimmings of all the rock stars today. You did'nt need to do a thing Mike just stand there and sing and that was all that was needed to make the millions crave for more of you! You will always be remembered for what you gave in music and a face that will NEVER be forgotten.
A humble thankyou for all that you gave us.We will always always keep you in our warm thoughts. It still pumps my blood when I hear you or see you on your master piece DVDS.

I can still remember being at home the day I found out that Michael was gone....I can remember crying tears for a wonderful, beautiful man that I had never met but that I felt I knew through his writing and his voice. He was a truly gifted, sexy man, and one could not take their eyes off of him. I still find that whenever I see pictures of Michael or watch INXS's videos.

Thank you Michael, for sharing yourself with the world. We were all a little better for having heard you.

I saw Michael and INXS a total of three times , The best time was at Rock city in Nottingham Engalnd. This was an intimate venue compared to the likes of Wembley, and during the concert Michael and the others were having one on one conversations with the audience, it was amazing, He always had me mesmerised with his voice wether he was singing or talking, and could not get to grips with his passing. Everyone talks about where they were when Princess Dianna died, well i was working nights, i am a nurse, and heard the news it shocked me to my bones. I still love listening to his voice and when i get married for the second time this year i will be listening to him again for our song.
Miss you loads michael

INXS and particularly Michael Hutchence were the first band I ever loved. I was 5 years old when my neighbours older sisters where in their early teens and used to play there then new albums “The Swing and Shaboo Shabar” I thought Michael was sooo very gorgeous and dreamed to be on his arm one day basing all the men I thought to be sexy on his looks (this continued to this day). I thought Michael and INXS captured the 80s and reminds me of my childhood and my nieghbours sisters who I grew up with. I cried when I heard of Michaels death and even taped his funeral as I felt like a part of me had died too. When I was 12 my brother bought me the INXS - Kick poster and tape for my christmas present ( I remember him buying me the tape coz he hid it in a shoe box so I wouldn't guess what it was as he and I always bought each other music for birthdays and christmas's.

Well Michael I never got to be your girl, maybe in another time, another place...

But I will always love you and love your music and you will always rock my world

Love you, God Bless.

Not only was Michael charismatic in front of a crowd, swayin to the beat..rithing through the rythem of it all but he to me is the Epitome of what a TRUE frontman should be...others could learn alot from watching the old videos and concert tapes/DVDS on how to work a crowd and make them beg for one more Encore.

Incredibly, I never knew the music of Michael or INXS - but my daughter did. Recently she introduced me to DVD's she had of the band, and Michael, and he touched me to the bottom of my heart. What a wonderful talent! What a beautiful voice! And even though I never had the pleasure of listening to him in concerts as my daughter did, I feel that I have through his music that I listen to, over and over and over again. I now treasure the gift of love he gave the world through his music, just as all his fans do. And though I did not know him, I now miss him very much.

I just want to say I remember meeting Micheal when I was 17 or so when INXS opened for Adam Ant in Houston Texas. I was a pleasure and a honor to met Michael and the Band. They were very nice and I will keep towel and the signatures to remember the great day I had back in the early 80's. I miss Michael as a great Proformer and I am sure as a whole person. Thank you Tracy Edge

Well Michael...It's been a long time. Lets go back 22 years. Thats when i first heard your amazing talents. Then we can jump right into 1983 at the US festival. Not only did i get the pleasure of seeing INXS, But I also had the most unforgetable experience. I actually was back stage and met you, Kirk, Garry, Tim, Andrew and Jon. WOW!!! I still can remember to this day how wonderful you all were. Since then, I have had the utmost pleasure to travel and see many concerts/tours 13 to be exact. In 1984 you and your Brothers (INXS) won so many awards (not to mention many other awards over many years)I'm so proud of you and all your accomplishments. We all miss you terribly and think of you daily. The band has done a Switch. But you would think they KICK!! I Know you would be so very proud of them all. I am....... I'll be thinking of you during this Tour Jan 30th. All my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family..... God Bless

“ had a dream the other night that I was able to go back in time and save Michael's life. God Bless...”

AND I'D LIKE TO ADD THIS -- “that's not all I'd do! He'd never want to leave me when I was finished with him - yeeeeeeeeeeeessssssss”
MICHAEL DARLING, YOU WERE AS HOT AS THEY COME -- YOU IRREPLACEABLE SEXY DEVIL!!

Throughout the years of INXS, I was a fan and musician of hard classic rock, only. As I musically matured around the age of 25, I became more diversified in my taste for music. I always liked INXS' music prior to my age of 25. They always had some catchy riff or chorus line, which caught my attention while flipping through the radio stations. Now, at age 38, I listen to lyrics instead of just the instruments. After reading the lyrics to some of the songs, I was quite impressed. I am not all that familiar with Michael's sole or joint band's effort regarding the lyrics. I love the writing style because you have to stop and think about what is being said. I have really grown fond of Michael and INXS in the past few months. As I listen to some of the songs, I find joy and sadness, simultaneously. I sincerely respect the band's music. If my health permitted me, I would either create or join an INXS tribute band.
