strange, how 'still there' he is
as if
something is yet
to be resolved
something
vital
the photograph?
it got a one
too dark
but
there is that within me
that shall tire torture and time
and breathe
when I expire

It's impossible to tell you what Michael meant to me. He is still a significant part of my life, I miss him like a lost brother, more like a lost lover, a lost advisor. Thank you for his life. He visits me still in dreams, and seems well.

I've been listening to Max Q. Did Michael know his end was coming and the time? This was released in 1989 and in “Ghost of the Year” Michael sings “I'm counting on you to count the fingers on my hands ---- that's the amount of time I've got”. There are eight fingers on both hands (not counting thumbs which aren't fingers)

and Michael died in 1997 seven which is eight years after Max Q was released. Did he know in advance? I am studying other songs. Feel free to e-mail me.

I fell in love with Michael and his music in 1987, aged 13. What has struck me most about this site is the lovely way Michael is remembered by his family as a man, not a star. The photos of Michael with his father show the warmth and pride between them and made me smile. Love to Michael's family and Tiger, you had an amazing father. Remember you always xxx god bless.

Today I was so proud. When I asked what CD my six year son wanted for christmas, he replyed “Michael Hutchence”. When I said “Mummy has them all”, he said “I want my own”.

All my children who are 9yrs and my son know the lyrics but now my 2yr old daughter is starting to sing them too, But when they want their own copies it shows that kids growing up today still have taste (well mine do).

It is also graet to know that Michael will live on through his music in generations to come.

Thanks Michael for the music!

I can't say I've been an INXS or Michael Hutchence fan from the begining, they were already extremely famous before I was even born! But, I can say, looking back now, it is true that Michael Hutchence was a very talented man. Loved by all that knew him and was not really into being famous.

To Mr. Kelland Hutchence and family,

I first heard of INXS from a good friend of mine's father when I was in high school. He was a bass player and had been touring in Australia with Eric Clapton. When he came home he told his son Jeff and I to keep our eyes out for this band because the singer had such a wonderful voice. Then I saw Michael...and I was like...voice? how about his looks? That was a long time ago...I kinda felt like I had been around since the beginning...I was listening to them way before any of my friends knew who INXS were.I am nearly forty now and I have a 9 year old son. I am so sorry for your loss. I grieved his death and I am only a fan...I hope I never know what it is like to lose my own son or mate. It has taken all of this time for me to even listen to any INXS. One of my favorite songs is “Beautiful Girl”. What a beautiful girl he has left to you in Tiger. I believe ya'll will see him again.

God Bless,
Shan

I find it hard to believe Michael is no longer here. The pain is still real.

I grew up on his music through the 80's and his voice brings memories, smiles and tears. I was weeping when I saw INXS playing again, but without Michael there. It doesn't seem right, and to me it never will.

My eldest son is the same age as Tiger...I hope she grows to know and understand what a talented and wonderful father she had. She resembles Michael so much; what a beautiful legacy he left.

Kelland, this is a wonderful website and I hope you have found solace and comfort in putting it together. I will treasure the memory of your son always and this website is a lovely tribute to him. Thank you.

I saw a performance in the very early eighties, at the Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide.I was with friends up on the balcony and I still can't believe what Michael did. While still holding the mic. and singing he climbed the huge stack of speakers facing the audience and continued climbing until he made his way onto the balcony just a few feet from us where he continued to sing his heart out.He had the magical ability to become one or merge with the audience. I havn't seen a performer so connected to his art as Michael.

As a parent l could not imagine what pain you all must be going through. Even though what Michael did was what l think a cop out to all that loved him especially his daughter tiger, he must have been in great pain himself. We have all got to learn to see the warning signs before it is to late and more life is wasted.

About once a week I wig out and listen to Elegantly Wasted and remember the night I spent with Michael and the band at the 4 seasons in Toronto Canada. We had a great time that sept 97' night . We allowed the band to cross the street on the way to try and meet David Bowie who was signing at a local radio station. Turns out we stop the car let the band cross and meet them in the bar of the hotel. I stick my head out the window and say “Hey see you in the bar” Michael replies “Thanks mate see you there” We had tix for the show that night and sat with the band at the bar. Michael was first to appear around 7pm and then followed by Kirk and Tim. We had one great time B4 the show and Michael ordered Sake then a vodka Gimlet. We all had Corona and lots to laugh about. After the show we met back and at the door the manager of the hotel ask me who invited me. My reply Michael of course. He checked with Michael and the manager returned apologetic and bought our drinks for us. Gary came to us at one point during the eve. we had girls all around us and said “ are you guys in the band” what a laugh. These guys were great and I had a one on one with Michael for a better part of the night. That guys touched my heart and talked to me for long periods of time not caring about who was in that room. He didn't have to and when I said that I may be taking too much of his time he said He loved the conversation with someone well versed in his lyrics and writing. I miss him everyday. Darren Dempsey

Not as familiar as my children with Michael' music, but however, as a parent I can understand your grief. What you have done here is a wonderful thing as the memory of your son will live forever, not only in your heart, but in the hearts of everyone else who loved him.
