In an interview in 1992 for U.S. ‘Elle’ Michael said "Fame makes me feel wanted and loved, anybody wants that.". Look at how loved you are, Michael. I hope that you are somewhere smiling down on us, happy that your existence made such a positive impact on so many people's lives.. for so long. I think of you all the time and selfishly wish you were still with us.. but mostly I am thankful you were ever here at all. A bright shining star of hope and love for such a sometimes uninspired and sad world. We miss you, and celebrate you, and are grateful to so many... your parents for bringing such a beautiful soul into this world and raising you to be free to shine like you did... the friends and family who have kept your legacy alive through stories and this beautiful website.. and all your fans who still band together in love of you. Thank you for all the positivity you spread. <3 Until next year.. Terri 🙂
Another year has passed since you have been gone but you are still amongst us in so many ways. Your memory continues to Shine, how can your star ever fade , it can’t . This year you have been remembered and perhaps understood a little more, thanks to Richard Lowensteins documentary. Thanks to him and your close friends for opening up and sharing their film and memories with us . I went to Sydney for the premier of the doco and it made me cry and smile for you .
Always in my thoughts
Bless you Hutch.

You are a talented soul that left this world early. We miss you and continue to enjoy your musical legacy.
My dearest Michael,
I remember this day...all too well. I was sitting in my Mum's kitchen reading the Saturday newspaper...when I saw the news of your passing. All I can tell you is...I was in total disbelief that evening. And then, the sad tears arrived.
Today Michael, I'm not crying...just a wee bit sad...that your not here breathing the same air as your fans are at this very moment. And, as a HUGE fan of yours and your INCREDIBLE BAND INXS...your "feet print" will be forever here with your family, your band mates and your FANS.
Thank you Michael....
Missing you always.
Cynthia

Love and Peace Michael , wherever you are
Today marks 22 years since you left this world. Such a tragedy, you are so sorely missed. Rob Thomas, his band and Andrew Farriss played an amazing tribute to you at the Hunter Valley, a day on the green. EVERYONE was up on their feet singing, dancing and remembering the legend that is you Michael. RIP xoxoxo
You may be gone but your voice, your songs, your charisma will live on for all time

Another anniversary has arrived. Michael will be on my mind all day. Two months before what would have been a milestone birthday.
There is no shame,
in wanting someone to blame
for everything..it’s easy
when the uncertainties
feel all the same
as everything that kept
the blame, so far away.
Now, everyday..
It looks more like me,
living in your memory
but, never greater than you are
inside of me
now only history.
Exists like a picture on a wall,
needing someone to explain
it all.
all faces fade away,
still I’m afraid
they will haunt me.
We’re no further away,
than we were yesterday,
time only exists to create
a bliss, unavoidable only in the living.
I love you Michael,,I love you INXS

This left me in tears. What a beautiful person Michael must have been. I’m so thankful for all his music we get to enjoy forever.
Always on my mind! ❤️
Loved him very much. Miss him so much. Wish he was still here making good music. Makes me want to cry when i think of him.
As i almost the ripe age of 50, one looks back in his life to reminisce the events that shaped ones life. My late tennage early 20 years were some of the best years of my life. One of the things that made those years so memorable was the music, one of my favorite bands and still today , INXS. I would like to thank all the band members especially Michael for such great music that help define my years. I have the pleasure to now be a dad to a beautiful boy with CP, even though he suffers from physicsl challenges he listens very well and totally enjoys INXS music when I play at home or in the car.
Thank you and long live INXS.
God Bless!

On November 2th in 1990, I went to the concert of INXS in Vorst Nationaal, Brussels (the capital of Belgium) and it was really amazing 🙂 The whole group and especially Michael did such a great performance ! Even now I still remember the smallest details of their concert. I want you to know that even now I'm still listening to their fantastic music and that I will always remember Michael as a fantastic, charismatic singer and person. It's still a great loss for us all. Kind regards, Ingrid
I miss him a lot and his music. Listening to his music right now. Two Worlds Colliding, wow!
July 1985 aged 20 I had spent the day watching “Live Aid” at home mostly and in the evening at the Pub. It was such an Historic event and at that age my life evolved around music. The next day whilst chatting over what we had witnessed my friend asked me had I seen the segment from Australia outlining some unknown (to us) Aussie bands one of which was INXS? I had somehow missed it, perhaps whilst walking round to the pub. Anyway my friend had “Taped” it so we watched it a good few times and were blown away by the band. The next few weeks had us trying to find out as much as we could about them, no mean feat pre-internet. My friend managed to get a copy of “The Swing” and that was it. We checked listings for tour dates in the NME and a couple of months later low and behold they were playing that evening in Sheffield South Yorkshire so that evening a car full of us from Manchester crossed the Pennines and headed to Sheffield University for the gig.
From memory “Listen like Thieves” was the current album and “What you Need” the current single was receiving heavy airplay on BBC Radio 1. The concert hall was so disappointingly attended that Michael and the band seemed a little embarrassed. It felt to us like there were around 20 people in attendance and as the night progressed we rocked out to the band who were so tight and sounded amazing the “Crowd” really became one and the atmosphere was just amazing, total strangers all together to make the most of what could have been such a disappointing evening.
Michael started to become at ease with the situation and was really chatty, when my friend and I started requesting songs from “The Swing” to the amusement of our new friends in the “Crowd” he was so happy we had knowledge of them. The night became magical for us all. The band became determined to give us a show and we became determined to be the best audience we could be for them. It must have been so difficult for them but they were totally professional and it became by far the best gig I ever went to.
We set off back to Manchester full of awe and amazement at what we had witnessed and my friend mentioned the band were playing the Manchester Apollo in a couple of days, of course we were all up for that! The gig was the polar opposite of the Sheffield gig, full light show around 3500 fans in attendance it seemed like INXS had made it they were so goddam awesome.
As an aside, the following July 1986 the same bunch of us were queuing at Check-in at Manchester Airport for a Holiday to Corfu when we noticed a young couple looking at us. The girl smiled and eventually came over saying “Hello, do you remember us? We met you at the INXS gig in Sheffield last year” “We got engaged that night and got married yesterday, we are going on our honeymoon”. Needless to say we were delighted to see them again and thrilled at the memories they had made for themselves.
Thank you Michael and the Band for some of the most magical memories that have lasted a lifetime and for the amazing legacy you went on to create after the “Greatest gig you ever did!”
My love and respect to all of you for maintaining this Memorial to a Truly talented and inspirational Human Being. Michael Hutchence, ❤️.

I remember seeing a photo with Michael wearing a Hustler t shirt when I was in my 20’s and the word Hustler became my username on many hook up websites when I was a horny young man
Much love and respect always
I can’t believe it’s been 20 years

I MET MICHAEL Briefly!!!!
My Sincere & Deepest Condolences To The Hutchence Family, Inxs, Friends of Michaels & To The Global Community of Fans of Inxs & especially fans of Michaels.
Such a dark & tragic Loss to loose a wonderful front man of Michaels amazing Calabar. The world literally stood still for a moment in shock to hear of this tragedy. I certainly did & still do.
I met Michael briefly in Canberra Australia (My Home Town) back stage at the Canberra Theatre, when i was about 19 . Michael had walked in through the backstage doors. (I was waiting determined if anything to just say Hello to Michael. As he was visiting my Home town after all) Than his Onterage followed him , but not before i had a chance to bravely & very nervously introduce myself to Michael personally. I was so nervous i cant even remember if we shook hands. But we stood face to face , i could have tickled his chin he stood that close to me, looking directly at me, i was taken by surprise as i also could see do clearly a few pimple scars on his plump cheeks the Cameras always cleverly hide. (Thats why the scars surprised me, hes so photogenic!!) . I said to him quickly ‘Hi Michael Im Maira from Canberra a friend of the headlining band !) quickly than he totled off to follow his entourage, as i walked away with butterflies pinching at both my head & stomache. I watched Beautiful & Slim Helena Christianson walk past me following him.
My Housemate at the time (an x kinda boyfriend) s band at the time was opening the Gig for INXS in Canberra Australia. Id previously spoken to the events manager for Canberra to Book this Band to open with INXS.. The Hammonds!!!
I was to shy to follow the group any further back stage or to ask Michael if hed had Dinner or needed anything etc.. We Live & Learn!!
When i was younger between 14 & 16 i saw INXS play at the Canberra Stadium. I was a highschooler attending a Girls Catholic School in Canberra. Amazingly enough Michael was literally the first MAN in the Universe, on the planet EVER to grab my attention.. Unbelievable stage presence..
Thank you for leaving me with such an awesome lasting impression of you Michael.. if only Rock & Roll hadnt taken you to the edge & you were strong enough to fight those thoughts when feeling moments of tragic dispare.
No Mans Stage presence has ever grabbed my attention like you had ever since. Not even Bono of U2 but hes up there..
I was in Cambridge England, where i am now when i heard of your tragedy. So Sad. Rest in peace Michael Hutchence x

Michael is among the greatest singers to me, if not the greatest Simply amazing in every aspect. Love the life and beauty in his eyes.
RIP, Michael!
RIP, Michael!
INXS and Michael were a huge part of my young adult life. I felt his songs spoke directly to me. I came of age in the 1980s, and this music filled every corner of my life. I watched my favorite band transition into the 1990s and loved the strength and sophistication that was evolving in their music. Michael's death was a gut check for so many of us. While it is a cold comfort, we still have the images, the videos, and the music, but what a void his death left in this world.
Thank you, Mr. Hutchence, for creating this beautiful place where we can come & still enjoy the magnificence of Michael!
From the second that I discovered INXS, I just couldn't get enough. The music, the videos on MTV, I was in Heaven! I was blessed to be able to see them live, 24 Aug. 1988 in Roanoke, VA. I left the concert with binocular circles around my eyes! Seeing Michael live is one of the BEST days of my life! I still have the tour shirt & I treasure it! We will see you again! 🎶 ❤

I miss you very much. It has been such a long time in years but I can close my eyes and see your face and hear your voice as if you were standing right in front of me.

Thank you for all you do to keep Michael’s fans close. My 8 year old daughter now knows the words to many of my favorite INXS songs, and I couldn’t be happier. Michael is a legend, and the short time her was here on earth, he shaped and continues to shape people of all walks of life.
What an absolute blessing to be able to hear his words.
Thank you!

Thank you!
The first time I listened to INXS was in 1988, in an opportunity to travel to Toronto Canada to visit relatives. My older cousin took me around the city and we entered a record shop and my cousin suggested me that I buy Kick's cassette (yes, cassette format !!) because the band sounded great. So many years have passed from listening to and following the band and Michael, I have many videos and CDs. And of course I still have that cassette. It works and I keep listening to it !!!. For ever with us.
What a beautiful Tribute Site for Michael! Such a talented man he was! He had a magical presence about him! An amazing songwriter, a poet of music. A lover of art. 💜 He has a beautiful voice, he is a “Shining Star” in the skies above us.
God Bless!
God Bless!
Even though it has been a very long time since your beautiful self was here I still miss you. I close my eyes and listen to your songs and I imagine you are still with us. Hope God has you in his arms Michael. God keep and bless your family....
