I never personally knew Michael or the band, but the everlasting effect that they (him) had on me with the release of Shabooh Shoobah cannot be fully expressed in words. I was only 12 years old when I heard the first single - it seems so long ago, but the music when heard again and again is timeless. The continued memories of the band's impact on my life during a time when I grew from teenager to adult will always be alive.

I remember the first time I saw INXS...The Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver--a small venue (takes maybe 1000 people) with a fairly large dancefloor. I was sicker than a dog; had a fever; but, nothing was going to keep me away! I'm so very glad I made it through the night. It was a great show. Michael, you are missed!!!

so late to respond

michael was and still is unigue.
he stays in the heart, the soul of many.

just watching and feeling 'need you tonight'
tells you,
how much we miss him, how much he gave of himself.
we can only wish that in some way
he knew what he made us feel.
when i get in my darkest deepest moments of no return
i put on the video of him ' need you tonnight'
and he makes want to go on and for that i thank him.
he wouldnt have a clue that he could make a deaf person feel the sound of a true artist

I have viewed this page many times to read what others feel or think. I have wanted to write before on here but, I felt like there is so much I want to say I don't want to overdo it.
I have been a fan for 17 years. INXS was my first concert. I only got to see them twice and I did not get to meet any of them. However, they will always be a part of me. Looking back in my old school yearbooks not one person signed my book without saying something about INXS. That makes me smile. When Michael died it was hard for me. It took about a week for it to set in. I would feel bad when anyone dies but, this was someone I did not know like a friend or family member but, it hurt just the same. The book wrote by his Mom and sister was great to read I felt like I got to know him even more, which made me miss him worse. Thank you to Michael for all you give to me each time I listen to you. Thank you to all who have signed this book it is nice to read what you all feel about such a great person. Thank you to his Mom and sister for letting me know more about him. I will always be a fan!!

I can still remember the first time I heard his voice and saw his video. I fell in love with both the voice and the man. He had so much talent, and his songs were intoxicating. I still listen to the music and his voice, and know he is still singing in his afterlife with just as much spirit as before. Michael, you are truly missed and loved. Your death was a great loss to us rockers, and one that will never be replaced. I never got a chance to meet you in person, but hope our paths will cross one day, only in a different way. Much love and rememberance....

There are some songs that Michael sang with INXS, MAX Q, that really spoke to me, even at various stages in my life. I even like his songs that makes me feel like he understands the state of the heart.. like “never tear us apart”, “don't change”, and some others makes me feel like singing along, without a care in the world.
i especially remember that “never tear us apart” was our theme song for my senior prom that year. And i'm pretty sure that i wasn't the only one screaming “michael” at teh top of my lungs, wishing he could look my way- and still happy anyway cuz i was there, at the “calling all nations tour”. i was a huge fan, and i still am. michael, you are truly missed. thank you for rock'n, and love your ballads.

I'm 35, and “Never Tear Us Apart” was released just as I was entering college. I had to leave my girlfriend behind. I have such bittersweet beautiful memories of that time, set to that song. Michael's music carries many memories for me, his powerful, soulful voice resonates through the years, and I miss him. God Bless.

When I was a small girl my father took me to a place which I believe was called the Tourmaline hotel, that was my first experience with an amazing band called INXS. Today I am truly able to feel Michael Hutchence's true artistic brilliance in the pieces of his soul that he left for us in his music, everytime we listen to one of his songs, and truly hear him, his soul lives on.
Thank you Michael Hutchence for touching us all.

The music of a generation who were still so young; the voice of a man who the girls adored and the guys could identify with; songs that I will remember till the moment I breathe my last breath. Thank God for you, Michael. I love(d) you...

I will never forget Michael. I am sad to know that I cannot see him perform anymore. I am still a fan of INXS. But I wish he was still here........

I remember seeing INXS play in Hartford many years ago. Michael H. was a craftsman, a leader, an individual who was so unique and inspiring with his song and performance. Few are equal. You are missed.

Dear Michael
May God have mercy on your life and in your death. I do not know your circumstances or how you died.
I am sorry I missed your great performances in life. However you loved well through your music and all fans everywhere will miss you for at least 100 years. Then, faded in memory by all those who live then. May you rest in peace in love and harmony with our Lord.
Thank you for your talents and love.

I was privileged to have been at the summer XS gig at Wembley in 1991 I didn't go as an INXS fan I went to see Roachford and Deborah Harry who were fantastic, however I then saw INXS, I wish the night would never end, I came away and bought everything I could find that INXS had recorded. From the moment he walked on stage the atmosphere was electric as a non fan I walked away the biggest fan.
I was in Australia in 1997 and was planning to see the band in Bunbury, I was both disappointed and sad, for the rest of the band.
Good luck to the new band member. Not a replacement but a way of progressing a great live band who still appear to thrive.Cheers.

I just wanted to say that Michael is still missed so much. He will always be my favorite singer. I have been rewatching and relistening to all my INXS stuff and I just get so sad remembering Michael. I was so lucky living in such a small town that INXS came near here and I was able to see 2 concerts, which were both the best concerts I have ever been to. Thanks for the memories Hutch!

Micheal was on of the best and he is greatly missed. We know he is still signing, just now it is for the Lord. We love his music and with all the fans of INXS his magic will live on forever. Love and peace to his family and friends.

Dancing since age 4, Lyrics and music have always had an impact on my life . But no one had such a profound impact on me as Michael. His lyrics and passion for music truly helped shape my thoughts, dreams and character. I attended every concert nearby every year that INXS came here. His death was mourned for years in my home. Since I really only communicate through movement and cannot sing, when people want to get to know me I respond by saying “Listen to every song written by Michael Hutchence from INXS and then you will have an insight into my thoughts.” SO to his family, my deepest condolences that he is no longer physically present here....his spirit lives on.
