I was always a far, but sort of from afar. I always liked all your music, but never followed anything much back then. I don't know why. I always thought Michael had a very diverse, expressive voice. Watching Rockstar INXS brought all this back to me. May you rest in peace, Michael, knowing you were admired and loved by many

You are, and always will be the most dynamic front man of any rock band - ever. Eight years is a long time, but your voice will be heard every day, forever. I'm glad that the band will continue, but we all know it will never be the same without your voice. You left your mark in music and we will forever be grateful. Thanks Michael.

I grew up listening to INXS during my school years through the 80s.
And then the chance meeting me and a friend of mine had with the band members in Flinders Lane in Melbourne back in 1994 really confirned how nice and down to earth the band members of INXS are. Well, it was my mate who spotted the white Toyota Tarago van, while I was too busy looking at a new VR Holden Commodore which had been recently released. (Yes, I am a Holden person!) It was my friend who said, “Hey, isn't that Micheal Hutchence from INXS” And sure enough, it was! I was talking more to Kirk Pengilly who was sitting in the front passenger seat while Micheal and the rest of the band members were in the back of the Tarago. I'm not sure but I think my friend got their autographs. The only downfall of the metting was when their manager came along and told us to “eff” off. Continuing our way down Flinders Lane, I kept pinching myself to make sure that I wasn't dreaming. As INXS are a famous band, you'd expect a lot of security trying to ward off all the crazed fans. But it was just coincidental we were in thr same lane at the same time and it shows what a really nice bunch of blokes they are. It was a shame what happened to Micheal, he was a really nice bloke. No one can ever replace Micheal. R.I.P. Micheal

I fondly remember the “Kick” concert. My best friend and I got 8 row seats at the Pacific Amp. Theater for the concert. My sister, who wasn't as big a fan as us, got invited on a date to the concert and got 3rd row. Talk about whoring youself out for better seat than you sister!!! But great concert and Michael looked just as hot in the 8th row as the 3rd!!!! Miss you Michael!

Michael Hutchence touched so many lives in so many ways. I just recently discovered him and I am completely amazed at how incredible he was. He was such a wondeful person and singer... and I know that he'll continue to touch people's lives in the years to come. He will always live on through the old INXS music, and the new too. We all love him so much, and we always will. God Bless you Michael, and may you rest in peace. Thank you so much for everything you've done. I will always remember you.

As the world embraces your mates in the band's newest incarnation, please know we haven't forgotten you and all the inspiring music you have given us.

You helped create the soundtrack to many of our lives, and at least one young relationship that has since lasted. I especially recall the thrill of dancing and singing along with you during the concert supporting the Kick album. You were really at your best.

“I'm standing here on the ground” and fondly remembering you. Thank you, Michael.

8 years ago tonight, I sat in front of my television and wept when Peter Jennings told me that Michael was dead. I thought, “Oh. This must be how Beatles fans felt when John Lennon died.” I was only 13 when he was shot, and in my teenage ignornace, I could not fathom how anyone could be so sad about the death of someone they had never met before. It clicked 8 years ago tonight...I get it now.

I listened to my “Best of” CD in the car tonight, and I got a little weepy when “Never Tear Us Apart” played.

The first time I saw the guys in concert was in 1983 when they opened for the The Go-Go's. I'm going to see them in Charlotte on Februrary 21. I'm trying very hard to be open-minded and give J.D. a chance, but I sure am missing you, Michael.

I hope you've finally found peace, my friend. Thank you for everything.

God makes some people with so much to give you Michael were one. You gave such wonderful music for all to share. It seems that you were a bright and gifted star that was gone too soon. Rest in peace now you will always be remembered. You will always be the brighest star in the heavens.

“Love is stronger then death even though it can't stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries it can't separate people from love. It can't take away our memories either. In the end, life is stronger than death.”

You will always be loved.

Rest my brother, the band plays on, and you would be very proud. They are blessed to have had you for the time they did and JD should be gratiful for what you left behind.

Rest in peace. Even though a Canadian is now fronting INXS, JD Fortune will never replace the unforgettable you. JD will only honour your memory every time he sing one of your songs. May God Bless your family and may God watch over your precious daughter.

Michaels music continues to bring to mind happy memories. I mark today not with sadness, although it is there, but rather with a smile and an amazement how well his music continues to be timeless. KICK.
