Dear Michals dad,

This is a beautiful web site honoring your sons memory. Thanks for sharing your feelings and your private photos. I hope this site will help you and your family overcome the grief and sorrow to some extent, though you will never overcome the loss of a son.

best regards Ragnhild

I think it is a beautiful site for a beautiful man but Paula Yates should not be left out. Whatever your opinions of her, she was a huge part of his life and is the mother of your grandchild. You have seen with the death of your son, how short life is and how important love is. Grow up and share the memory of your brilliant son Micheal with everyone that loved him.

Dear Kelland,

Although I was never a huge fan of INXS, I was very sad to hear of Michaels passing. I think you have created a beautiful site, which not only mourns Michaels death, but celebrates his life too.

Rest In Peace Michael.....

Dear Kelland,

I want to say, that what you have written about your son's, Michael's, life as an artist & his life in general, is EXTREMELY well written. You seems like a fantastically “back-up”- family. I really respect you. As a so called “fan”, I must tell you that it is actually pretty strange how “close” you feel you are to someone you like,- a music- or a film-star f.ex. Kind of strange for you too hear this, I guess, but you feel the person is a close friend of yours. A person you know really well.

Your son has made a very good impression on others. Even though I don't know what he had inside- who he was,- I can say that he had this “something”. He had style, an own carisma (right written?). Today's expression have to be; He was of the cool type.

So what can I say, Kelland? Life really IS hard, but the picture I've got through the media,- how you (your family) have acted, what you have done, during this hard period,- shows that you've been “backing-up” and done all there is possible to do in such a hard time. Keep on showing your love through this site, Kelland.

We all REALLY appreciate it!

Love & respectable wishes,

Tom K. Gerlyng, 20

WORDS CANNOT AND WILL NOT EVER EXPRESS THE IMPRESSION OR FEELINGS THAT I FELT WHEN MICHAEL FIRST WALKED ONTO A STAGE OR OPENED HIS MOUTH TO SING A SONG!!

HE HAS LEFT ME FEELING A SADNESS NOTHING WILL EVER REPLACE AND I HOPE I GET TO MEET HIM IN THE HEAVEN ABOVE AND FINALLY SHAKE HIS HAND AND TELL HIM HOW I FEEL!!

HIS DEATH WAS A TRAGIC AND UN-NECESSARY EVENT BUT I AM SURE THAT EVERYONE WILL CHERISH HIS MEMORY WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL WEB SITE!

My life was never the same the first time I saw INXS. I became an obsessed fan. 15 years later and the news of Michael's suicide and I again have never been the same.

Michael's lyrics along with Inxs's music became the soundtrack to my life. Thanks for so much joy.

Dear Kell,

Thank you for sharing with us, the fans, what must have been a very personal and traumatic time in your life. Know that we truly appreciate it.

I did meet Michael once...when I was 15 at a Duran Duran concert, no less. I noticed him because he was wearing this outrageous white shirt with HUGE ants all over it! Being 15, I looked, then looked away, then looked again. He saw me looking, swaggered,(as only he could) over, and said, “Hi sweetie....want my autograph?” He asked my name, signed, kissed my cheek and was promptly swamped my giggling teenage girls.

The day he died, I found that very autograph & spent all afternoon framing it with a beautiful photo of Michael.

Today it hangs on my wall as my own little tribute to a fabulous & charismatic showman, & by all accounts, a truly decent human being.

I hope Kell, that all theses loving tributes, by so many fans & friends, bring a little bit of comfort to your sorrow.

Kind regards,

Gabriela

This is a beautiful site & gesture. My deepest sympathies to Mr Kell Hutchence, little Tiger Lily, Paula & all others that loved Michael. I did not know Michael though I am a big INXS fan & what I've read about him intrigues me greatly. I always feel a really strong wave of sadness when I hear his songs or think about him. His death is truly a tragedy that should never have happened. He was a fantastic front man, singer & of course, a stunningly gorgeous man!

When I first heard INXS in 1986, I said to myself now that really is a band.

I finally got to see them in 1993, and was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. The music from Micheal Hutchence will be sadly missed.
Trudy (aka Magoo), 13.10.1999

Heartfelt and sincere thanks to all concerned for a truly beautiful collection of memories. I feel privileged to have shared in your personal stories and tributes.

Some days I am still overwhelmed by grief....other days, through the gift of Michael's time with us, his music, his passion and his unrivaled beauty and charisma - I find the strength to smile for him. I will miss him always.

Looking back on the hundred messages thus far was exubrating... in not even 48hours this has hit the 100 mark! I noticed many familar names and caught up with old friends, laughed and cried... most importantly I felt a great sense of pride in being Australian. Like Tiger, my father left my life before I was even born and I grew up knowing another man as my daddio. However, he - regardless of how much I idolised him - in the daddy's little girl mentality - he didnt turn out to be what my mother had anticipated him to be and after 15 years I was left back at square one.. only this time with a broken heart. It isnt something i talk about very much, but I felt i would share it with you so that I can express my further gratitude to how you were always there for your son. I read Vince Lovegrove's book, and after perusing this site further, I can clearly see that you were, and still are a great factor of support for your children and that you love them to pieces. Thankyou so much for bringing Michael into existence and encouraging his choice of career throughout the early days when things probably seemed meek and many other parents would have displayed their distaste of a seemingly juvenile and unrewarding pursuit. I dont know the full extent of your perils with Tiger's mother, but she is crazy not to have Tiger calling you every week with the cheer of 'howya doin' grand-daddio! Also, i think the size of the pictures are fine... quite refreshing since Im practically as blind as a bat - it was touching to see the other side of the great man I knew as Michael Hutchence... international music sensation and favourite tabloid fodder (Line em up and shoot them all!). Many a time I sit mystified at the thought of my mother running around with double plaits and kooky glasses... let alone my grandparents escaping the war or my aunts and uncles having fights as children... it was very nice to see the whole picture for a change.. made my appreciation of Michael so much more validified and all encompassing... finally I was able to see him as something more than just a figure on stage for our enjoyment or a voice on the radio... he became a person again... a somebodies father, somebodies lover, somebodies brother and somebodies son. Sadly, the constraints of fame robbed him of this image (in the eyes of many people) and in this superhuman existence they everyone thought he could handle everything and that everything he did was everybody's business. For me it is a devastating example of too little too late... family aside I dont think anybody really appreciated what we had (with Michael) and let him know of as such until it was too late. My heart goes out to you and your family as i catch this glimpse into the extent of your greif and in letting go. I can only hope that when Tiger reaches my age she will understand and have the reassurance that I never had that her daddio loved her and will be with her always.

You traveled with me for twenty years, my weary friend. In this rest, I hope you'll make your amends. I saw your trifles, read the exposes. Moved by passion, I once wanted the same: to own the world while you rent another's home. But who pays the price for that chance to be alone...sometimes there's far, far too much...in a song for your heart, it can turn the days that you wait for into dark...and when you long for the touch, from that one thing you love, you might as well wait for tomorrow to become today...

Thank you so much. It is a privilege to share these memories of Michael. The thoughts of many, many people are with his family and Michael's music will be part of our lives forever.

I had the chance to see INXS in Surfers' Paradise in 1983 while travelling around Australia. It made a lifetime impression on me. As a journalist in 1988, I had the chance to meet the band in Calgary, Canada. Mr. Hutchence was a gentleman as were the other members of the band. The music he left us will live on forever. Thankyou.

I really like this site. I learned a lot about Michael, things that I didn't know about him, I'm fan of INXS since 1991, from that moment I can't stop to hear them. I really appreciated all the people who contributed to make this page.

LOVE AND PEACE.

Sebastian.

Wow. This site is so incredible I can hardly find the words for it. It seems only suiting that with fans all over the world, a memorial for Michael should be able to reach each of those fans. Thank you Kell (and Mario and Jacky and Ian) for this beautiful website and beautiful tribute to a truly beautiful person. Wherever Michael is, there can be no question about how much he was and still is loved. This website and this guestbook prove that beyond anything. Thank you again Kell for sharing all of this with us. Michael was incredibly lucky to have a Daddio like you.
