Still so sad. Sadder is that the public and media have not learned their lessons about hounding celebrities, and that the music industry hasn't openly questioned its culture of drug abuse. Since his death, the connection of anti-depressants with higher incidence of suicide has been chronicled.

Here in Utah I was early on the train with 'Listen Like Thieves' I knew how important they were. These songs and the stronger ones through the years cycle through my psyche like water in an eddie on the beach. Im grateful.

I wish I had met him, I wish I could talk to him...I feel strange connection just by studying everything about him...I love his personality , soul , spirit, voice ect. I am currently in Sydney...21 years later, trying to feel his spirit by going to all the places that I read he likes or he visited...I am sure i could ask some of you for more stories of who he really was, and where he really engoyed being...but didnt really want to sound like the typical fan...So I am just writing to say that 21 years later another soul that he touched is searching connection with him..here in Sydney....He will live until we breath...and I hope to meet his beatiful soul ..sometime....somewhere...

My mother listened to INXS while I was growing up in the 80s, and it's been a part of my life ever since. I'm 36 years old now and still listen to your music EVERY day. Your music makes me happy, confident and so very nostalgic.

Hi, I had the pleasure of meeting Michael and Rhett many years ago in Glasgow. I hope Rhett will remember me as I went to New York with them all and stayed at the Plaza. I had a desire to hear Michael today and downloaded Need you tonight, I then searched for Rhett and discovered today would have been Michaels birthday. My girlfriend is the one who showed me INXS, citing similarities between Michael and myself. I get to watch Dogs in Space with her tonight and I feel so fortunate to be learning more about Michael all the time. I've really come to admire him. He is dearly missed, and dearly loved, by everyone who has listened to him. I also want to say that this is the nicest webpage I've ever visited, and I think it's a wonderful tribute to Michael.

This message is twenty years late. I just want to take a few moments to pay my respects to Michael and say what a kickass frontman he was (and still is in the minds of many). I had “Kick” and “X” on cassette. Me and my dad would play these cassettes on the road traveling all over California. I can still remember playing the “Kick” cassette over and over and over again. Thank you for a lifetime of memories Michael and the rest of the band. Medite.

Very strange how I randomly jumped on the internet out of the blue today and searched Michael on Wikipedia, only to realize that today would have been his birthday. Coincidental? Maybe but doubtful.
