INXS and Michael were a huge part of my young adult life. I felt his songs spoke directly to me. I came of age in the 1980s, and this music filled every corner of my life. I watched my favorite band transition into the 1990s and loved the strength and sophistication that was evolving in their music. Michael's death was a gut check for so many of us. While it is a cold comfort, we still have the images, the videos, and the music, but what a void his death left in this world.

Thank you, Mr. Hutchence, for creating this beautiful place where we can come & still enjoy the magnificence of Michael!
From the second that I discovered INXS, I just couldn't get enough. The music, the videos on MTV, I was in Heaven! I was blessed to be able to see them live, 24 Aug. 1988 in Roanoke, VA. I left the concert with binocular circles around my eyes! Seeing Michael live is one of the BEST days of my life! I still have the tour shirt & I treasure it! We will see you again! 🎶 ❤

Thank you for all you do to keep Michael’s fans close. My 8 year old daughter now knows the words to many of my favorite INXS songs, and I couldn’t be happier. Michael is a legend, and the short time her was here on earth, he shaped and continues to shape people of all walks of life.
What an absolute blessing to be able to hear his words.
Thank you!

The first time I listened to INXS was in 1988, in an opportunity to travel to Toronto Canada to visit relatives. My older cousin took me around the city and we entered a record shop and my cousin suggested me that I buy Kick's cassette (yes, cassette format !!) because the band sounded great. So many years have passed from listening to and following the band and Michael, I have many videos and CDs. And of course I still have that cassette. It works and I keep listening to it !!!. For ever with us.

What a beautiful Tribute Site for Michael! Such a talented man he was! He had a magical presence about him! An amazing songwriter, a poet of music. A lover of art. 💜 He has a beautiful voice, he is a “Shining Star” in the skies above us.
God Bless!

Such beautiful memories of seeing him at Irving Plaza NYC just 6 months before his passing. Incredible show with my best friend by my side. Now they are both on the other side and Billy is enjoying Michael's singing . I miss you both my loves.

Was just thinking of Michael and the special charisma he had. I am grateful that we, the listening public, were blessed with his presence, his songs, his amazing performances. I am currently blaring "Don't Change" quite loudly so that the neighbors may enjoy it, as well. Michael's memory will live forever in his music. Much love to all of his loved ones. x x

Your memory still burn brightly Michael, your legacy is still very much alive. Your truly unique voice is eternally relevant. I cannot express the feeling of loss that hits me every time I play your music - 22 years after your loss. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. May you forever rest in peace. God bless you and your family

First I must say a very a sincere "Thank you" Kelland for creating this site for so many reasons. After all this time, I along with millions of others, still have yet to complete the grieving process in Micheals case. His passing has left a significant emptiness in our hearts and souls, that is hard to put into words. It is best to focus on how fortunate we all are to have been graced by his existence for the time that we did. We are all actually just visiting this planet we call "home". Our actual "home" is on the other side as many spiritualist refer to it as. Michael hasn't died, but simply gone home. Thanks big sis Julie S. for exposing us to this most unique individual, and his incredible band, that influenced us in such a profound way.

I was so young when he passed. But I remember. I am so glad Kylie, Helena, and others came together to immortalize the HUTCH in the film, "Mystify". Who better than those he loved so truly.

Growing up behind the Iron Curtain I missed a lot on the 80's live music . Around 97 was in seventh heaven when the news of INXS finally possibly playing a gig here started to appear ... it never materialized. Still remember that ugly, gloomy, cold November day so well ....

Still love you, the band, the music xxxxx
Have to say, my all time favourite song is Just Keep Walking

I remember seeing a guy wearing a rock t-shirt with INXS on it in school and thought..who is that band? Obviously no internet in the 80s so my resource was the radio and Friday night videos on broadcast TV - no MTV ... After hearing the band's music I was an instant fan! Thank you for the some of the greatest music ever produced.

I was standing
You were there
Two worlds collided
And they could never tear us apart...

I was a teenager in the 80's and I grew up listening to his music
Never forgotten

Grew up listening to INXS as a teen in the 80's - still listening to and watching Michael today - so much inspiration to me! I suppose he will remain my favorite all time musician. I have a teenage son who beats an uncanny resemblance to Michael Hutchence. If they ever do a story of his life for film - my son is his celebrity double! Naturally - I'm teaching him about INXS. He loves the band! RIP Michael -

Dear Michael,

It's been a long time since I've visited. I need to drop by more often. This is a precious place, here in this corner of the Internet. It's almost like sitting in a cloud, far off from everything else. A place of peace and refuge, while the world spins in chaos all around it.

It's still such a tragedy that your life ended the way it did, but in a way, I'm glad you're not here to see what has become of this place we inhabit, because I know your heart would be broken and your soul would be very, very heavy with grief.

And that's all we do. We inhabit this sphere, held in place by gravity, orbiting a sun, in a solar system, in a galaxy, in one corner of the universe. But we don't live here. We don't take care of this place. We do not treat it as our home. We don't even live authentic lives anymore.

We don't even take care of each other. We are divided into factions, each side blaming the other for all the problems, being absolutely hateful and sometimes violent, when someone says something that another person doesn't agree with. Governments all over the world are becoming tyrannical in the name of democracy. It's a frightening time.

You knew all of this would happen when you penned the line "Watch the World Argue". But in The Stairs you gave us hope. You were, are, and always will be, an old soul. We need your words now, more than ever.

I don't know if those of us who were there from the beginning can pass on the magic of what you gave us to future generations, but we are trying. We are trying to inspire a new generation with your music. We are trying to tell your story. You mattered then, you matter now, and you will always matter. We remember, so we never forget.

Our lives go on. We have changed. We have grown up. We hope we are better people than we once were. We went in different directions. Some of us still stay in touch after all this time, and for those of us who don't - well, our paths do cross occasionally , because we are bound together by you. We always will be. It's pretty amazing.

I suppose someone from the outside looking in might think we are obsessed, but we know better, and you know better; so let them think what they will. We know how it was when you looked a person in the eye, you made them feel like they were the only person in the room. We are just a group of people who were profoundly affected by your life and death because of our own special sets of circumstances, and we went through it, together.

I hope you are finding the peace you were so desperate for in this life. I know I have, and I am grateful. I never thought it could happen. I will honor you always, by continuing to help you find your place in this world, so others can heal and be inspired by the life you lived, even though you are no longer with us, and have gone onto the next world, wherever that may be.

For some reason I always imagine you sitting in a tree, just observing everything. I don't know why. But I find comfort in it.

Until next time,
Deirdre

Michael

You are one of the original rock gods... you will be remembered always and deeply missed by many around the universe. I was blessed to have seen you at your best with INXS at many shows in Melbourne... I still remember where I was - when the dreadful and unbelievable news rumbled over the airways.... I still cry when I listen to you sing certain songs..

Thank you for being part of my life -from an adoring and distant place...

I can only imagine how devastating your passing was for your family and friends... Such a tragic loss of someone who was clearly struggling... if only things were different... you'd still be here...

RIP Hutch - Rock On Always & Forever!!

Seeing the doco Mystify - Michael Hutchence has certainly shown the world an insight to what your life was like... Makes me miss you so much more... .
