I fondly recall first seeing INXS on Countdown performing 'Stay Young' - Michael was dancing in typical fashion, with his hair & arms dangling everywhere. I went to see INXS a few later in 1984 at the Palais theatre (Melb) with my brother, just as Original Sin was released. Looking back now, it was such a special time in my life, & INXS provided much of the soundtrack. I have enjoyed their music for a long time, and am still saddenned when I think of Michaels departure. I hope Michael knows how much he contibuted to this world, & just how much he is missed.

I first saw INXS in 1986 at the Illinois State Fair. I was 14 at the time and I was amazed at Michael's incredible energy just pouring out through the entire show. They hadn't quite become the huge act that they would turn into and I cherish the thought of having seen INXS in such a small and personel venue before they hit the big time in the U.S.

This Christmas Eve I plan on lighting a candle for Michael, as I've done every year since 1997.

It still today brings tears to my eyes when I think about Michael. I will never forget the day when I heard the news. I never had the opportunity to meet Michael or any of the other guys, but I had felt like I lost my best friend. INXS was such a big part of my life. When people would think of me they would think of INXS. I was so proud of that!!! I wanted everyone to love the greatest band in the world as much as I did. Every song has a meaning to me, but my favorite song ever and always will be is “Need You Tonight” because it is what tuned me into them. And when I saw Michael for the first time, my heart drop. I thought “thank you, God!! He is the sexiest man alive!!! Keep in mind I was only 10 at the time. My world crashed the day he left us, I truely thought INXS was over, like others I didn't want to listen to their music anymore. I still get chills when I do listen to them or hear MIchaels voice on the radio. I truely did love Michael, and the rest of the guys. YES I was obsessed!!! To the point where I would actually celebrate their birthdays and have INXS days. So no one can tell don't cry over him, cuz you didn't know him. But in my heart I knew him through his music, and his beautiful words. And I am going to hang on to that, and support the band in whatever they continue to do.

I loved INXS so much and saw them in concert a handful of times. I remember lining up at ticketek overnight when i was 17 to get 22 great seats for my friends and I, and boy did I get great seats. I was able to get right in the middle of the front row. That was the X FACTOR Tour. I took heaps of excellent photos of Michael and just cried and screamed all night. Jon Fariss handed me a used and signed drumstick at the end of the concert and i felt like i was the luckiest person in the world.
When i heard that he had died, i stopped listening to his music. It was to hurtful to hear his divine, perfect and sexy voice. To this day i have not played his CDs and when i hear him on the radio, i both indulge in the song and hurt at the same time. BUT, I have decided that it is time to start playing his songs again. Since Michael dying, i have not taken a serious interest in any band or singer. No one will ever be like him. I grew up with his music and labelled him the perfect man [no man has met this standard]. I loved the way he moved his adorable body and swayed his hair around. I dont mean to sound as though im obsessed - its just that ive never visited this site before and im feeling the need to vent all of my emotions.
Thankyou Michael for your beautiful songs and that incredible voice.

Gracias por haber existido.

My 8 year old daughter, Isabella, is probobly one one Inxs's newest fan. From her urging, I decided that I would like to pay homage to Michael, one of the best front man of all time. My good friend dragged me to my first Inxs concert. Then I got to see them 3 times on “American Bandstand” and at numerous concerts. They were awesome, especially Michael. On stage he was so sexy, even more so than Jim Morrison. He had such a stage presence...and off stage he was so kind and full of life. You could just tell how much he loved his life. It saddens me to think of Inxs without him. No one will ever be able to fill his shoe. I also know in my heart that he is looking down on us, and especially his band mates. I know that he would want them to continue on and also help them find someone out there who just might work. Good luck to all and God bless!

I must agree with Jack Logar of Clarksbury, West Virgina. Michael's solo album is SIMPLY FANTASTIC, not a bad cut anywhere. If you haven't heard this album as yet, I strongly suggest you put this one on your Christmas list...It's never too late.

I first heard of INXS December 1984, I was at a staff Christmas party when I heard the song “What You Need” this is a bad ass song. A few (sorry mates, I can't remember the exact year)years ago the band got together with Terence Trent D'Arby as the front man. Well we all know that when someone is gone that simply means, their gone, and no one can ever fill their shoes. I've got to give credit where it's due...Terence, you did great!
I'm pretty sure Michael was happy with your performance that night.

Theirs only one Michael Hutchence

Cheers mate

Dear Michael,
I loved your voice and I'm also a big fan of INXS. They were a great band, but when I heard that you died I was shocked. I wish you were still alive and still making music with INXS. Somtimes I wish that I had one wish ,and if I did I would wish for you to be on this planet having fun. What I am really trying to say is I would wish that you were still alive.
Jack Logar, 19.12.2004

Michael Hutchence and INXS have provided the soundtrack for my life. I began following them when I heard their first American hit, “Original Sin,” in the early 80's. I enjoyed the peak of their fame with “Kick” and the “X” albums. And after their popularity in America began to wane in the early 90's and the throngs moved on to the next big thing, I continued to be a huge INXS fan all the way through 1997's “Elegantly Wasted.” I can honestly say that I've never heard a bad INXS song.

As soon as it was available
in the United States, I purchased Michael's solo album. It, too, is FANTASTIC! Not a bad cut on the entire album.

As far as I'm concerned, Michael Hutchence was a genius.
