I was privileged to see INXS for the first time at Canada's Wonderland, God only knows how long ago, in the $7 concert series. They opened for a lesser talent, entitled “The Go Go's”. I was early for the show, so excited to finally see the band that I seemed to be the only one familiar with. I had heard their song on the pop station CFTR in Toronto, where the DJ mistakenly pronounced the bands name “inks”. Looking back now, the ignorance makes me laugh, considering what they were to become. These boys have written some of the best poetry you can imagine. If you haven't done it ever, or in a long time, sit down with an album or CD cover and read the lyrics. Not listen to them like a song but read them like a poem. Whether you are joyful, sorrowful, hopeful or in despair, there will be something there for you. I recently put Kick on the CD player, having forgotten it amongst my stack for years and realized that, unlike so much of the music from that era, it is not in the slightest dated. Then I put on Original Sin and realized that it, too, is still so applicable, so honest and pure. That led to me rediscovering and in some cases, re-purchasing in CD format, all of the INXS that I can get my hands on.

A voice like no other, in the figurative as well as literal sense, I am overjoyed to play INXS' music for my son. Even at 6 he is a fan, wanting to know what each song is about. We listen, then we read, then we discuss. There is not much on the radio these days that you can do that with. Between nonsense and foul mouths, there isn't so much poetry out there anymore. INXS rekindles my hope for the future of music and I am pleased to have called myself a fan for many, many years now. I will continue, long into the future.

Pleased to watch the evolution, despite obstacles, of one of the greatest bands in history, I humbly sign myself,

Pam Evans

INXS was my favorite band growing up. From The energy of “kick”, to the passion of “Never tear us apart”...I love it. INXS has power just like Pink floyed and U2. I belive that god speaks through all of us, but is only heard truly through artists including Michael Hutchence and INXS.

When I was about 8 years old I remember watching MTV and seeing “The One Thing” video. From that day on I have been a fan and INXS has remained my favorite. Michael was my first love 🙂 I have every (cassettes first)CD and still get so excited when I hear them on the radio. His voice soothes my soul. This dedication and memorial site warms my heart, I love just knowing that there is somewhere I can go to reflect on so many wonderful memories of Michael.I just want to Thank you and the rest of Michael's fans for keeping his spirit alive. I still have a hard time accepting what had happened.

Even now in 2005 you are an inspiration to me. The band may continue but wont be the same. You were Rock and Roll...

Your family should grow up knowing what a true star you were.

Love and Peace. That's what Michael was all about. If I live to be 100 there will never be a day I don't miss him but he still brings joy to me through the music and images he left behind. Michael, I love YOUR precious heart! You are my guardian angel and I will always cherish the few minutes we shared after the Atlanta show in 1997. Thanks for sharing your life and music with the world. I will carry your sweet smile in my heart always and your voice remains the soundtrack to my life.

I cannot recall the exact year. Possibly 1996 or 1997, High School. INXS was to play at the Rock Stage for Summerfest (July) which is still a huge music event in Milwaukee, WI. The gates opened at 9 am and it was a general adm event in the 80's. I stayed at that rock stage from that AM and the 4th row center was the closest I could get and the band came on in the evening possibly around 8 or 9 pm. LONG DAY to say the least on a hot, humid, sunny day. It was after they played the second song if I recall and the sky turned black and it poured rain. There were tornado's accross they state and they evacuated the park. I cried the whole 3 hour car ride home.
Some like the Beatles.... That's how I still feel about Michael and INXS. They have touched my life
I will be forever,a fan.......

One of the first videos I remember seeing was “The One Thing”. After that, I became a huge INXS fan. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to see them live but the music still always takes me back to a wonderful time in my past. Thank you for the memories.
