As a preteen in the early 1980's in Houston, Texas, I recall watching MTV at that time and hearing a song by INXS called “Don't Change”. It was and still is one of my favorite songs of all time. I remember the way Michael and the band arrived in the hanger playing music and entertaining the viewers for just a brief moment. And disappearing from the hanger as quickly as they appeared, almost like a flash of light. It always seemed like the song was over much too soon. But that moment stayed with you all day once you saw the video. It seemed that was the way Michael's life was. It was brief and over much too soon, but, his persona stays with you each time you hear an INXS song. I didn't like the idea of the band searching for a new leader a few years ago because I am one the fans that loved them long before they were really popular. I am a lover of the early recordings such as, “The One Thing”, and “Don't Change” etc. Everything before 1985 which is when the group really caught their stride in the USA. I do still love the later recordings as well, however, there is nothing like those early memories when both the band and I seemed to be coming into our own. I remember Michael being one of my first and few rock star crushes. And just recently I caught a concert on VH1 classic of the band in London. It was as though he never left us. I said all of that to say this, he is sorely missed, he always will be. From the 1980's preteen fans that are now in their late thirty's and forty's to the new fans who took the ride with the group later in the ninety's. All of us love you Michael. We miss your smile, your grace, your haunting sex appeal and the wonder that is, was, and always will be INXS!!! That, will never change!!!

Sincerely,
Donna, Houston, TX USA

Dear Hutchence Family:
Today we honor your husband/father, Kell Hutchence. While I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hutchence personally, he seemed to be a gentleman and a man of honor. I believed he did his best to honor Michael and his legacy. In the face of what must have been a crippling loss, Mr. Hutchence went out of his way to comfort others who had been affected by Michael's death. He was a man of great compassion and dignity. I salute Mr. Hutchence and his efforts to keep Michael's memory alive. I'll play Michael's music in his honor. I can think of no better tribute. My thoughts are with you and I hope you all have a nice holiday season.

I just wanted to write a quick thank you to everyone who maintains this site. Mrs. Hutchence, the Ferraris, Mr. Patterson..the site has been beautifully maintained and serves as real tribute to Michael and I daresay..Mr. Hutchence as well. You've all done a great job at maintaining Mr. Hutchence's vision for this site. Mr. Patterson, your message this year was very moving and a reminder to us all that we need to celebrate Michael and not lament his loss. Thanks so much. I hope this note finds you all well.

Dear Michael,

My Dad, Vincent likes Johnny Cash. I found a song by J.Cash that you might like.....

Why Me Lord by Johnny Cash

Why me Lord, what have I ever done
to deserve even one
of the pleasures I've known.

Tell me Lord, what did I ever do
that was worth love from you
or the kindness you've shown.

Lord help me Jesus, I've wasted it so, help me Jesus, I know what I am.
Now that I know, that I needed you so, help me Jesus my soul's in your hand.

Tell me Lord, if you think there is a way, that I can repay, all that was taken away from you.

Maybe Lord, I can show someone else, what I've been through myself, on my way back to you.

Sincerely and with a heavy but loving heart...to you Michael.

LOVE,
Kathleen A Ryan
