Michael was first introduced to my listening ears in 1983, I was in Seattle at the ocean with my girlfriend on a leave day while in the army, he moved me in a way no one could or ever again will with the song One Thing, to this day now, I am 49, and I have every song he recorded in my car, and my home, and I know every word in each song. His presence on stage, on video, in person, still moves me, it takes me to a place of being free, wild, and so willfully full of life. I miss him so much, his life brought life to others, many times his songs lifted me thru depression and lonely nights. Now I play his music and my 19 yr old daughter digs it so much she plays his music. You had a wonderful vision with this site, God Bless and may he live on in many young peoples lifes.
Well Ive been singing “Mystify” all morning, I love that song. I guess Im missing Michaels spirit today. Your spirit moved me the first time I heard you sing, and it moves me now. Find a way to reconnect with the living world. Your passing still makes me ask “why”? Peace to you...

adoro este sitio porque nantiene vivo el recuerdo de michael.
Michael was so very talented, and he seemed genuinely nice. His music holds up very well, it is still vital musically and lyrically--inspired and wonderful. His lyrics are so interesting. This is a sweet website. Is there any new project being done?
Michael:
It's not late for let you know that, I am proud of you! I love your work. It has been a privilege to be part of your audience. But I feel it wasn't enough time to satisfy our need for music that awake new sensations like your songs do.
God bless you!
PS. “I would catch you – I'd catch you as you fall – I would catch you – I'd catch you if I heard your call” I know that your love ones and fans would catch you if they have heard your call.
Love + Peace 4 everyone

Hi guys.
Just had a long look through the site, pictures, memories, life and so on. Brings back fond memories of my childhood listening to INXS and micheals absorbing and fantastic lyrics and voice.
I also would like to say that despite what some crytics wrote or said about Elegently Wasted I thought it was one of the bands best albums, couldnt stop listening to it for well over a year...and still do to this day along with all INXS's brilliant albums.
I'll be visiting Oz for 3 weeks on the 24th Feb staying with a friend in Sydney....rest assured I'll come visit you micheal...its the least I can do for all you've done for me in this life...take care, see you soon mate. Craig X

to michael: You are so very missed. there is not one day that goes by that i do not still get sad about the loss of such a beautiful and talented man. I listen to your voice every single day and I still cannot believe that you are not with us any longer. Thank you for all that you have given to me and to the world. Miss you so much.
Haven't been here in a while and I missed posting for your 50th birthday. I spent some of 22 January, in Phuket, Thailand on a desserted beach. At sunset I had a bottle of Singa beer and toasted you on your big day! I even made my b/f 'clink' bottles with me. He understands my INXS and MH love!! :))
Happy Birthday Michael. We miss you!!

I was 13 when i started to really get in to music, but didn't know what type of music i liked. Anyway, one night while i was staying at my mums house, i just happened to put a tape in my new hifi and hit the record button on bbc radio one. The tape ran untill it came to the end of side A, i then hate quickly turn it over and whack the rec button again...the sound was off, so i had no idea what the band was like. I was really only testing how good my hifi would rec. Next morning i took the tape out and put it in my walkman...and for the next hour and half i was blown away by what i had recorded...a band called inxs singing live at wembley stadium London. I'm 31 now, and still have the tape..Hutchence fan and inxs fan ever since. They became a huge part of my teen years and his music helped me through some hard times. Thank you Michael and inxs for that help...love and peace x
Michael was such an inspiration to me as a teenager in the UK...he will always be an influence in my life and his music will live on in people's hearts.
I remember in 1990,me at the age of 10 then, Suicide Blonde being on MTV every hour,my mother would yell at me because I would leave the TV on (but muted) for hours waiting for the song's video to come on again so I could dance to it. Needless to say what happened when MTV had dedicated INXS weekends...
I bought all the INXS tapes beginning with X. My dad was a water polo team coach so every second weekend on the away games he would drive us to some other part of Greece and I obsessively listened to INXS on my walkman while on the car and reading the lyrics at the same time. Everytime we got back home I would look up words and phrasal verbs from INXS lyrics in the dictionary...
In a way I learned English from Michael.
In 1997 I went to university in England and even though by that time I was listening to other stuff I was thrilled by the potential of seing INXS live.
The day I heard the news I refused to believe it. Still to this day I cannot believe it. Everytime INXS comes on the radio I feel like I am about to say to myself “I wonder what these guys are up to” as if Michael is still here. It just doesn't make any sense.
Michael Hutchence was a genuine and charismatic performer. He was a poet,a singer, a dancer,a charmer, indeed he was “heaven sent”.
Michael you will eternally live in our hearts.

For Michael and all band members,
You have always been my favourite rock band, but I never really knew your lyrics until I bought Live Baby Live. What has greatly surprised me is the depth of your lyrics.Where did you get this wisdom from at such a young age? I am hearing some of these topics on radio programs I listen to now. You wrote about these around 20 years ago or more. You also condensed them into 3 minute songs, with beautifully chosen language and music, then presented them with all finesse and style. You have blown me away all over again!
Tim, you talk about being positive and that Jesus was positive and “tried to preach a good thing to a great many people to improve their lives.” That's how you and INXS come across. In your music, lyrics and performances, you not only entertain, but uplift and help people.
Jon, you mention on INXS.com that INXS is a gift. I think so too and on a number of levels. Thank you for giving so much!
Michael, You are still reaching out and connecting with us where ever we are at in life. You said, “we've tried to sort of make music that your feet can move to and your head can think about or your heart can feel.” You are brilliant at this and I am learning so many lovely qualities from you.
My love and admiration only grows for you.
Best wishes to you all,
Cathy

Michael was a huge influence in my life. No one in music will ever be able to capture the audience's attention like he was able to. He was a wonderful singer and performer. Michael is greatly missed...
While listening to Need You Tonight on the radio in the grocery store last night, I was struck with the same familiar sadness that comes every time I hear Michael's voice.
13 years, and the sadness feels the same. Michael is certainly not the first or last indelible icon to die before we're ready to let go. But, for some reason, his death still strikes me right in the heart whenever I hear his voice. Sexy, warm, mysterious, and inviting all at once. Unique. Missed. Always.

Michael,
Sitting here listening to Nick Cave's latest cd and thinking of you as you led me to listen to so many new artists I never heard of before . Hunters and Collectors, Roxy Music, Chic , Big Pig, Kylie Minogue and of course Nick Cave. You were a huge influence on me especially the first time we met . I hope you get to hear music in heaven like your old friends. Thanks for being a light during the dark period of my life.

Happy belated 50th birthday, Michael. Here is a new poem celebrating your gifts. Enjoy!

Michael Hutchence, Our Shining Star
Welcome, Michael, to Wherever You Are
We hope that it's a good, happy place
Because you deserve to be somewhere good
We miss you hear on earth and we wish you had not left us so soon
But we are glad you were here for as long as you were
We can celebrate, because the gifts you gave will last forever
You are a shining star, because you were so good at what you did
You were, of course, one of six guys in a great Australian band called INXS
We must not forget that you were not INXS by yourself
But, you added that extra dimension to make INXS the band that they became
Michael, you had that rare combination of gifts that helped make the magic that was INXS and we thank you for that combination of gifts, which very few people have
Your way with words that made people sit up and take notice-the words that, with Andrew Farriss and his musical abilities, combined to become classic, timeless, intelligent, and passionate songs that we all still enjoy years after they were released
The intelligence that allowed you to create those kinds of songs
And your honest and sincere love for what you were doing
Your voice, very unusual, yet beautiful, which you used so well
We were spellbound by it, just as we were spellbound by your amazing performances on stage, so natural, nothing false about them, because you gave your performances everything you had
Of course, those performances could not happen if it were not for the fantastic musicians you were part of
So we must celebrate all of INXS, not just you, Michael
Andrew, the keyboard and guitar player, who was your friend and songwriting partner for over 20 years
Tim, Andrew's older brother, the lead guitarist
Garry, the bass player
Kirk, the saxophonist, guitarist, and your main backup singer
Jon, the drummer
They enjoyed your sense of humor, your intelligence, your natural and graceful stage performance, your brilliant song lyrics, the empathy you displayed
They looked upon you as a brother, and they still feel your loss even now-twelve years later
Just as your daughter Tiger Lily does
Just as the rest of your family misses you, too
And just as we fans miss you and wish you were still here
But, we all rejoice that you shared your God-given talents with the world
You did not hide them from the world, you shared them, just as God intended for you to do
Not just your gifts in music
Those gifts were wonderful in and of themselves
But you had so much more to give
A generous and loving heart
An ability to connect and truly share yourself with other people
A passion and love for what you were doing that was completely natural and you were not afraid to show it
Empathy for the pain and suffering in the world
No fear of baring your soul for all to see
No fear of being yourself
A vulnerability that made you human
The flair for making people feel like they had known you all of their lives
A love for and appreciation for life
And a great sense of humor
So many gifts that God blessed you with and that you shared with the world, and the world is a better place for your having been here and doing what you did
Your life ended too soon
But we celebrate you, because we had you and your gifts, Michael
The gifts you gave will last forever
We love your precious heart
They can never tear us apart
So, Michael, keep being a Shining Star
And Welcome to Wherever You Are
Thank you for sharing your gifts
We miss you
But we celebrate our Australian Shining Rock Star forever
Keep shining for us and for you
Always

Wow, still miss your voice and wonder what you would have given us today, post 9/11, and beyond. I will be 47 in a a week and a bit and see at the INXS site you would have just hit 50... A contemporary in vision and voice. Am always so sorry I never got to see you and the band live. Sorry! But know where ever you are you are ROCKING! Happy Birthday!
Micheal was the best singer of world and the inxs without you never will be the same, the most important band of rock. Take a rest and your name never forget anymore.
