Michael, a brave soul that lived to reach his dreams, a true inspiration to all of us, to live with passion, to be ourselves.

I am well over due to visit this website and post a comment on this page.
I had the pleasure of meeting Michael on October 20, 1987 in Kalamazoo, MI. My memory is a bit weathered, but this is what I recall from almost 30 years ago. A group of friends (5 of us) and myself went to see the Kick show and were luck enough to go back stage and meet the band. They gave us beers, really liked all of us, and were all invited to their hotel next to Wing Stadium. We hung out and partied till wee hours of the morning. Michael was very cool and low key, as I remember, as was a few of the band mates that hung out with us - Andrew and Jon. We all just felt like we were hanging out with old friends from home.
I remember checking out the CD collection next to a little Bose amplified speaker and portable Sony CD player. Cameo, Aretha Franklin, Beatles were just a few they had.
I also remember just kicking back on the bed with Michael and talking.
We never even thought of getting autographs or anything like that - just to caught up in having a good time. It was a pleasure to have met Michael and spent just a few hours with him. He treated us like we knew him for years. What a great man.

I will never forget that evening and either will my friends.

Peace to you Michael!

Dear Andrew, thank you so much for your kind words and sending me a message from half way around the world - your care got through - sorry to hear you have been through pain too. 'Send a message' was one of my early fav songs too.
Michael, INXS, their songs say so much and are timeless. I was lucky enough to see INXS a no.of times when we were all young before they became famous - blew the roof of Sydney pubs - great times.
If you ever come to Sydney you must go to Michael's memorial site - it's beautiful - created by his Late Father, family & friends.
Good Wishes Christine

First of all, my deepest sympathies to you for the loss of someone you loved. I have experienced it as well, and I do not wish it on my worst enemy. For whatever reason, I just heard “I Send a Message” on the radio, and I hadn't heard it for years! My favourite INXS tune of all time! It just made me think back to a lot of things that happened in those years...some good, some bad, just memories. An incredible talent, to say the least. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Once again, my most sincere condolences...and in reference to the aforementioned song...I send a message too! Andrew.

Dear Michael, a friends 24yrold son has just died - she is so distraught - death is so perplexing to find any meaning for it or understanding - his name is Andrew - please take him under your wing and keep him safe.
Out of this, I wrote a poem not of death but of living:

“Trying to find myself - but I'm already here.
Life has a mind of its own;
Taking us on its Merry Way with twists ... turns - Ectasy and Despair.......
Fate has its way.
Hearts beating strong carry us on.
Morpheus guards our Sleep and Dreams.
Black Knight protects in the palms of Doves.
Be, be Who you are here to be.
No-one else will do!
Time is Fleeting;
Do not let it pass.
Knock the chains that bind off.
Fear has no resting place here.
Never forget Care.
You'll be.

Michael I visited your memorial site last week- such a beautiful peaceful place - it always makes me feel better when I go there - wish you were here. But look after dear Andrew.
Bye Mate Christine X

And If... by Mihai Eminescu (Romanian poet)

“And if the branches tap my pane
And the poplars whisper nightly,
It is to make me dream again
I hold you to me tightly.

And if the stars shine on the pond
And light its sombre shoal,
It is to quench my mind's despond
And flood with peace my soul.

And if the clouds their tresses part
And does the moon outblaze,
It is but to remind my heart
I long for you always”.

I still love you Michael
You've been always an inspiration for me
You are the best rock artist!!!

Suicide Blonde and Disappear hooked me when I saw them on MTV after school in 1990, and I have been a die hard fan ever since. INXS has been one of my all time favorite bands since I was 14. I'm now 37, and not once has my admiration, or love for the band and it's music waned over the years. In fact, as I became a musician it only grew. Michael Hutchence is someone I will always admire and respect. He's the perfect bland of Rock, swagger, sexiness, and soul all wrapped up in one awesome package. As a man, I admire his sense of cool, style and the way he seemed to handle himself. He was truly one of a kind. I'm happy to be able to say I saw them on the X tour, I still remember his Black Vinyl Jacket shining all the way to the nosebleed seats we had.
I do my best Hutch impression at Karaoke most weekends, and the albums are and will always be in my rotation. Rest in Peace Michael, all your fans miss you.

First, thank you for providing a wonderful site to celebrate Michael's life. Although he left us too soon, he left a wonderful legacy. I honestly can say I am not a big fan of INXS, but a fan of Michael. He never forgot who he was, and treated other's with much respect and kindness. His zest for life never diminished until his demons took over. He is at peace on the other side, and is close among those he knew and loved unconditionally. He loved his fans, and above all loved God. We miss him, we love him, but when we hear his music, we are filled with memories and thankful for all he did while here on earth. God bless him, and thank you all again for this wonderful site to Michael.

Dear Michael,

It has been a while since I sent a message. Well, yesterday, August 24,2013 my son Jake got married. The wedding was beautiful. I had the honor to dance with my son too one of my favorite songs...Never Tear us apart. You see I was outside last night around 7p.m. smoking a cig and drinking well?....Gin.Seven and Lemon drinks. My neighbor recommended that drink. The next thing I know is my HUSBAND TED. Yeah, he's a teddy bear. Whatever? Ted tells me, Kath, It's the Mother and Son dance, ya gotta go now!! I walked in and there was Jake, smiling waiting patiently in the middle of the dance floor. I walked up too him and gave him a hug and at that moment INXS Never Tear Us Apart began...I have not been so happy before. You are so INSPRIRATIONAL, Michael and INXS.

P.S. I don't feel like a Mother-in-law?

Sincerely
Kathleen A. Rao-Ryan

Never forget the night after one of the bands first visits to the uk when I followed michaels car to his hotel I jumped into the back seat with him and told him of when I lived in Sydney I used to go see the band in the early days. He looked a bit bored!! I would too mind you
He's so missed. Still can't believe he's not here anymore. Life is so very short
Thank you Michael and the rest of the band

I could write so many things about Michael..He was so special. All his fans know that..I unfortunately never had the change to see him live,as he never came to Greece..That is something that still makes me unhappy..But he was always a person who was very far away from me...A star in the sky..I rally hope that that's what he is now...After so many years the feeling is the same..Michael you'll always be living in our hearts and souls...Hope that you have found all the peace of mind that you needed...Rest in peace...

“Life is a way in where you can stop anytime”. Good memories with INXS lyrics. Listen the music is transfer me to my young life years and years ago

I tend to be “Fashionably late,” and last year I added “Elegantly Wasted” to it...they just go together for me...I love the responses I get: Sometimes it's no response; sometimes a laugh; sometimes a wtf?

Last year I received an INXS double-DVD and discovered “Mystify”...love it!

Michael was such a talented songwriter with a beautiful voice and just the right moves...wish I could've seen him in concert. His talent ranks right up there with Mick Jagger and Michael Jackson.

I am so sorry for his loss...

I am watching INXS in concert on Sky Arts and wanted to pay my respects to Michael. What an amazing frontman he was - charismatic and such a voice. RIP Michael, you will never be forgotten x
