I watched VH 1's tribute to Michael last night and it was done so well. I cried new tears at the loss of such a wonderful talent. I think his family and friends gave the world an indication of what a kind, soulful and charismatic man he was. I thank them for that, most especially his father.

Seeing Martha Troup break down when she recalled receiving the news about his death was so incredibly touching and heart wrenching.

God bless him and his family.

I first fell in love with Michael and INXS in the late 80's and have been a fan ever since. I'm older now, and not as fanatic, but still have a great love and appreciation for his work - including Max Q and Dogs in Space. When I awoke the morning after his death and learned of it, I cried. I realized how much happiness he gave me through his music and I felt his loss profoundly. I look forward to his solo album.

I want to let you know that this site is absolutely beautiful. It is what I believe you meant it to be, a respectful, classy tribute to Michael's life and work.

Thank you for sharing this with those of us who loved Michael and carry him with us still.

Hello Kell and Family,

I watched VH1's Behind the Music last night and I have to say, it was a wonderful caring treatment of Michael's life, talent, depression and his family life. As a fan I would love to have a documentary 10 hours long, so I could see every picture, every video, every word about him, but with only one hour in which to present his story, I thought VH1 did an awesome job. I saw film I had never seen, pictures I had never seen, and was just very touched by the whole presentation. It presented his “humanity” so well, not just his “rock god” image. Because after all, it was the *man* we all loved so much.

With love to all of you,
Patricia

I always loved the music of INXS and I was especially taken with Michael. It was my dream to see them in concert someday, which did, but I never got a chance to meet him. I will always wish that I had. He was such a talented, great artist and performer and I will always continue to listen to the music. Thanks for this wonderful site!

I think Michael is the greatest, sexiest performer I've seen. Thank you for providing this wonderful web site so he can be remembered properly. Celebs die every day, but Michael's death really hit me hard. It's been 2 years, and it's still upsetting to me, even though I never knew him personally. Thanks for keeping his memory alive.

Michael Was one of the most Beautiful Talented and Haunting people in Rock and roll. His music helped Define who I am as a person, for from a very young age INXS had always been one of my favorite bands and Michael one of my favorite people. Although I never knew him or got to see him live, his memory remains in songs, video and literature. It is stil so hard to understand why this happened. But each time I hear his Amazing voice through my speakers I feel that he is somehow aware of my pain and all our pain. And he knows he is still bringing joy to each and every one of us through his music.

Thank you Michael ....I love you.

Dear Mr.Hutchence,

I've been a fan of INXS since 1986 and since the death of your son Michael not a day goes by that I don't think about what a beautiful person he was.He was a excellent performer, glowing presence, and I always dreamed of someday meeting him,but I know that can't happen now.The world lost a wonderful musician, but you lost a son,a brother,a father to Tigerlily. I can say this much.Your son's music always kept me happy and feel good. I will never forget him.Michael, wherever you are,I hope you're finally at peace.

I love you always and forever.

God bless you and your family and keep you.

Yesterday (1/9/00) I turned my tv on, I was watching VH1, they had “behind the music” playing, and this time it was about your son Michael. It pains me to say, I didn't really know much if anything about him before yesterday. See I'm only 17, so when your son moved on I was still young and not to interested with the news. But it struck my heart all the way to it's core, when I saw your sons story on, and I found out that many of the songs that I love, were song by him. I don't really understand, why someone with so much to give, had to leave. I don't believe that he killed himself. I just feel that your son understood that life is a blessed thing that is given to us, and even when things look the worse and that they're not going to become better soon, you still know that what goes down, will go up. I cry, and in my mind I find it rather silly that I cry for someone who I did not even know. Yet I sit her, and can't help but let the tears fall from my eyes. I'm so sorry, even though it's a little late to be saying this, but I just there were words in the english language that could express to you my sympathy, other than I'm sorry. Your son was a great man, and will forever be remembered in love, and honner. I just wish he could have stayed even just a little bit longer.

even though i missed out on the early days and the heyday, i recall the last few years of michael's life as if they were yesterday, despite never meeting him. his music has enabled me to find my place in the world. i can remember the very time i heard “original sin,” which remains my favorite inxs song to date. i was only about 3 or 4 years of age, but it left an impression on me. during my early teenage years, i was alone, scared, and saddened. i felt as though there was nothing left for me.

one night while at a desolate new romantic club, surrounded by a dying race, i heard the same song that had left such a remarkable impact on me 12 years earlier. as i shut the rest of the room out, i spun round clad in a black frenzy to those lyrics. for the first time in my life, i realized that i did have something to live for.

a few years later, i received word of the 20th anniversary tour from a friend. you could only imagine the smile on my face! i was thrilled to see that inxs was still thriving after their successful peak. a month later, i received the tragic news. i was crushed, but i remained strong.

a week later, i returned to the same desolate new romantic club, where hundreds of us gathered not to grieve, but to celebrate his life and his music. to remember the good times.

michael hutchence was a truly amazing individual. he will live on in my heart forever and ever.

What a terrifically wonderful website!

I am 28 years old, and was in high school when INXS “Kick” came out here in the states. The group were my personal heroes. Every song was inspiring to me and talked to me on an intimate level. I was very saddened that Michael left the world the way that he did, and too early, at that, but I'll always have his music. Thankfully!! What a beautiful voice... Thank you Michael for sharing your talent with us.

We love you!!

I awaited the Behind the Music all week and taped it this morning at 11 a.m., and will watch both reruns tonight! I must say that, even though the E special didn't offend me, Behind the Music was just as I thought it would be: Much better, more informative, and handle Michael in a caring and loving manner. Michael wasn't just the hormonal rock star who dabbled in drugs, as E loved to mention, and BTM showed just that.

The interviews with Kell, Rhett, Martha, and Bono were the most touching of the bunch, even though I enjoyed all of them. I was doing well until Martha broke down, and then that is when I started crying. Since I pre-ordered the solo CD and single to 'A Straight Line' and have received it, I got chills when I heard Possibilities and Slide Away. Even though the 'why' question will never go away, it was good to hear that many do not think Michael killed himself. Also, even though I haven't really painted a good picture of Paula in my mind, it was good to see that Michael, in an interview, talked so kindly of her, which changed my opinion totally, especially with the family photos and the one of him lying on the bench and her leaning over and kissing him. Such a picture wasn't as it sounds, it wasn't sexual, it was purely lovable. No matter what convictions I have for Paula, I really think Michael loved her and am glad that BTM showed that side, as well as Kylie and Helena.

Once again, another kudos to VH-1, I KNEW they would do a wonderful job showing the world the Michael we all love, the kind, sensitive, and warm man who could either make the girls faint or cry, or make the guys jealous, yet most of all, what a caring and heartfelt man he was.

To Michael, Love always...and to everyone else, make sure you catch the show if you haven't already! I could write a book on the show, but I guess I will end at this.

With love, Lindsay Caudill
