Michael - we missed you ALL !!!

I met Michael once at the Red Parrot in Perth which was a highlight of my early twenties, having an absolute crush on him. I was taken aback by his gentle nature, and how strong his charisma and charm was. His death was a great loss to the music world...may the music of INXS and his solo work live on!

Michael left behind a Legacy full of lyrics and song, and I guess that's what I miss the most! I'll never forget the memorable 1987 concert tour at “Madison Square Garden” where he and the band left a memorable impression on me that I truly cherish now. A special thank-you to Mr. Kelland Hutchence and family for dedicating this memorial site to us the fans! Michael may be gone, but he'll never be forgotten.

Sincerely,
Cat

I was at the New York party at Barramundi for Michael's birthday. It was a great time, meeting other fans and sharing stories of how and when we first discovered Michael and INXS. It was a great way to remember him and celebrate his life... but the melancholy in me still lingers. I've been a fan since 1983- I was 13 at the time- and the impact Michael and the band had on my life is just incomprehensible. I wrote a poem of sorts that tries to explain that, and thought I'd include it here.

there really aren't any words
(perhaps I just can't find them-)
that would be fair and truthful
in expressing my feelings for you
you made me who I am
sculpted my existence
taught me how to love
in a world that seemed lacking
you brought it all together
how can I ever explain
the amount of joy I've seen
or the places I've been
in your honor
you gave me confidence
where others gave me none
without even knowing my name
you made me unafraid
how will I ever say thank you
for opening me up
for making it fun
how will I ever say thank you
now that you're gone...

Happy Birthday, Michael, Our Shining Star.

Peace.

WOW I WON!!!! I entered a competition for a copy of Michael's album and a promo video and I won!!! It was through a cable television station on Foxtel in Australia and I wasn't even sure I entered my details properly... let alone did I think I had a chance of winning! I have never won anything in my life... ever. So I feel so priviliged and lucky - as though some greater force was shining down on me and telling whoever picked the winners that “hey, this girl has been waiting for her turn” - that the first competition I have ever won was to do with Michael. God knows how many so-related competitions I have entered!!! When I got my prize thsi morning I had totally forgotten having entered the competition in the first place... so it was a very nice suprise to see in the week... and an even better way to end the weekend. WOW I am just ecstatic... it makes all the things I moan about not having... and all the opportunities I will never have made available to me... and all the stuff that goes on at home just that little bit easier to deal with!!! I look forward now to what the year 200 holds for INXS and eagerly await more exposure on the five remaining, ever so talented guys and their current endeavours. Looking forward to the strangest party this time next year...

I have only found this site today and just want to say thanks for sharing all your photos and memories with us - all the fans who love and miss Michael.

I can't believe another year and another birthday has passed..

I saw INXS several times, the first was at Sheffield in December 1990 - I was addicted from then on!

I was at the SummerXS concert at Wembly Stadium in July 1991 and then a few years later I saw them at Rock City in Nottingham - I still can't get over the way they did such a close and intimate gig as that - I'll never forget it! Micheal had such talent and his words will always be with us. The memories will always be in my heart and mind.

Love Jo Cxx

We saw INXS 3 times in Toronto, and as always they were great. They will always remain my favorite band. Thank you for sharing your memories with us, his devoted fans, who feel that they have lost a good friend. God Bless

I,m glad Tiger will have such loving Grandparents to protect her.

What a sad day it is, being what would be another birthday for you, Michael...Listening to your album, your spirit lives on through what was your last great work of art, and the memories and visions of you that it conjures up are bittersweet...It still feels like you're here--alive and well--but you're not...Michael, I wish you hadn't felt so alone and defeated when you left this earth...The world is grieving over the loss of who was an irreplaceable human being--you...The impression you left on this world is something I thank the heavens for...Even though you were taken from the world too soon, I wanted to thank you for being here--if only you could've stayed longer...

Mr. Kelland Hutchence, thank you, too, for helping to bring this light into the world--I only wish the world were as bright anymore...

Dear fans, and in memory of Michael....

Today, Michael would have been 40. It's seems so odd that two years have gone by, doesn't it? I mean, who would have ever thought that we would have gotten through these two years without going ballistic.

Wherever you are, and however you are celebrating, please rememeber the man, the singer, and the legacy.

I love you Michael, Happy Birthday

Lindsay

In this special day your memory is alive than ever. I don't need to say how much I love you, 'cos you already knows. Since you gone I'm feeling this pain in my heart it's so strong, but when I look your pictures, listen your music or see your videos I feel your present. Every single day I think about you and I can't understand how hard could be the live. Sometimes I feel guilty 'cos I didn't show you my love but when I think about that I imagine your face forgive me. I know you understand me 'cos I feel you're my guardian angel, always taking care about me. I LOVE YOU AND I MISS YOU. And remember no one else could ever compares to you HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVE...WHEREVER YOU ARE.Love... Paulina
