Dear Hutchence family.

After viewing your site dedicated to your son, I feel that he was much loved and is obviously missed greatly.

I had the fortune of seeing Michael perform on stage under South african skies. I was totally taken in by him. At the age of 30 something I guess that is saying a lot! I listened to his cd today and realised that we would never have the opportunity of ever seeing him perform again. What a tragedy. God bless to you all and I think it is great that you have dedicated this wonderful site to him. What a wonderful family you are.

Having finally heard the solo album in its entirety, I realized how truly missed Michael will be.

What a touching and heart-felt web-site, thank you.

I managed to get a copy of the solo CD. What a wonderful tribute to Michael and his music in releasing this fine, fine material. If only there was more to come. I trust that Michael has found peace.

Well happy belated birhday Michael! Just wanted to say that I miss you and I will always hold you close to my heart. You mean so much to me michael and I always wanted to tell you that in person. You've inspired me and you've touched that special place inside me that only few people can do for you. I know that my dream will never come true by meeting you and to tell you how deeply I do love you. But I pray that somehow that you know because it is so important to me that you know. I also wanted to tell you that if you would have given me that chance when I had threw that letter on the stage in 97 and just gave me a chance to be your friend. I would have been there for you. When you were all alone and needed someone to talked to I would have been there for you. I would have done anything in the world for you. I never knew you personaly and you never knew me personaly. But I grew a love for you and the band that will always be in my heart and that will always stand true. It hurts real bad that your gone Michael and I know that people say to celebrate the wonderful person that you are. Believe me I do in my own way. Thing is I can't help but to get saddened when I hear your voice and see your precious face. Your gone and hurts. I just wish that you were here with the ones that you love and the ones that love you. Even though your gone Michael I will never ever forget you. I love you Michael. I pray that you have found that peace that you did not have on earth.

And to Michael's family I hope that you are all doing well. Your son was a wonderful man and I am so sorry for your loss. Believe me I wish that he was here with you and especially there for his daughter.

With all my love always and forever

Although I'm a little late, I hope Michael's family, friends and fans had a wonderful celebration on his birthday. I was unable to celebrate this year but last year I had a small grove of seedlings planted in his memory. I haven't been to see them still, but when I do, I'm hoping to find them as beautiful as the man they are honoring. Cathy

It's odd when you think about how someone you've never met can make a place in your life and in your heart. Music stirs emotion and I remember laughing, crying, making love, dancing, and just sitting in silence to his voice. I still love the voice, the music, the lyrics, but it's just not the same now. There's something missing. We miss you, Michael. I hope you have found the freedom you deserve.

I had the opportunity to meet michael and INXS on the US leg of the Elegantly Wasted tour. I am a fashion designer and worked through Michael's front office to get a chance to meet him when he was in Chicago and talk about some stage wear. Martha Troup granted me a backtstage pass and to my surprise I met a wonderful and warm individual who was interested in my designs. As we parted ways after the show, Michael said get in touch with him later and we will work something out. As I sat down to write him, it was the morning of his tragic death. I was crushed.

To a wonderful man and a kindred spirit. I will miss your smile and warmth you granted me for ten minutes. Thanks to Martha in NY for allowing me that opportunity.

Seeing INXS on stage was one of my greatest moment in life. Michael had such a way to make us feel like participating at the gig with them. I only saw INXS on stage twice, and I will deeply miss that.

Thank you, we miss you and always will.

I only just started listening to INXS. I found out about them when I went to a U2 concert only 3 days after Micheal's death, and Bono did a long speach on him. I find myself getting very upset when I think about him, and all the people he influenced. I even sometimes feel like crying over it. I feel very selfish when I think how I wished he was still here, just so i could experience him alive. Very few singers have his spark. He was very special.

hey everyone, hope you all had fun at your parties. meanwhile, i did nothing, no party, no INXS music, no nothing 🙁 don't mean to bring you down. well nothing ever happens here in philly. and even if it did no 13 year olds are allowed anywhere.oh well.

I know it's been two years now since he left us but I still feel so bad about it.

Thank you very much for this wonderful website. Let's keep him alive in our hearts forever.

I have enjoyed the music of INXS throughout their career. Michael's voice is the soul of their songs.

The tremendous sadness I felt on learning of Michael's death is still with me. Michael is sadly missed. He lives on within us all.

I met Michael once at the Red Parrot in Perth which was a highlight of my early twenties, having an absolute crush on him. I was taken aback by his gentle nature, and how strong his charisma and charm was. His death was a great loss to the music world...may the music of INXS and his solo work live on!

Michael left behind a Legacy full of lyrics and song, and I guess that's what I miss the most! I'll never forget the memorable 1987 concert tour at “Madison Square Garden” where he and the band left a memorable impression on me that I truly cherish now. A special thank-you to Mr. Kelland Hutchence and family for dedicating this memorial site to us the fans! Michael may be gone, but he'll never be forgotten.

Sincerely,
Cat

I was at the New York party at Barramundi for Michael's birthday. It was a great time, meeting other fans and sharing stories of how and when we first discovered Michael and INXS. It was a great way to remember him and celebrate his life... but the melancholy in me still lingers. I've been a fan since 1983- I was 13 at the time- and the impact Michael and the band had on my life is just incomprehensible. I wrote a poem of sorts that tries to explain that, and thought I'd include it here.

there really aren't any words
(perhaps I just can't find them-)
that would be fair and truthful
in expressing my feelings for you
you made me who I am
sculpted my existence
taught me how to love
in a world that seemed lacking
you brought it all together
how can I ever explain
the amount of joy I've seen
or the places I've been
in your honor
you gave me confidence
where others gave me none
without even knowing my name
you made me unafraid
how will I ever say thank you
for opening me up
for making it fun
how will I ever say thank you
now that you're gone...

Happy Birthday, Michael, Our Shining Star.

Peace.
