It still feels like yesterday
and a million miles away-
how can I miss someone I never knew
and yet I do-
It still feels good to hear his voice
to listen to his words -
and I feel ever grateful
and thankful that I've heard -
One day we will meet again
in places we call home -
It's this knowledge
and for only this
that I feel less alone.

Peace and love still follow you Michael.

A truly beautiful web-site to be proud of - like I am sure you are proud of your son. I didn't know Michael and didn't know much about him, but I loved his music and will continue to do so as soon as Shine Like It Does is released in the UK. He was a fantastic performer and I deeply regret not being able to see him sing live or interview him (as I am a journalist).

OK,I ONLY WHANT TO SAY “THANKS” MICHAEL HUTCHENCE FOR THIS KIND OF GREAT MUSIC, THAT YOU SHOW US. YOUR MUSIC IS APPRECIATE IN ALL THE WORLD, IN THE OTHER HAND IS SO SAD THAT YOU DISAPPEAR INTO OUR SIGHT, BUT OUR MINDS WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.

I CAN'T UNDERSTAND YOUR DEAD!!! I WISH THAT YOU WERE STILL SINGING IN THIS WORLD...

LIKE YOU SAID “NEVER TEAR US APART”

Dear Mr. Hutchence,

Thank you for being so steadfast in maintaining a place for positive discussion and memories of Michael. I work in the media and had to read the news of Michael's passing which was difficult for two reasons. #1) I am a very passionate INXS fan and I wholeheartedly believe they were getting better. Elegantly Wasted is a fantastic record that was greatly underrated. #2) Michael's death came on the heels of the Princess Diana ordeal not to mention the death's of Mother Teresa and John Denver. Those were several months of very sad news. The bright light in all this tragedy is that gorgeous little girl that lives on and will always have a part of her incredible dad with her. Tiger will one day be heartened by the fact that millions around the world love her father and the legacy of music he left us. I know my adolescence would not have been the same without the “Kick” record. Michael was a virtuoso performer who was part Mick Jagger, part Jim Morrison but with his own unique twist. There is truly a Michael Hutchence stage presence and it has and is influencing the next generatin of rock acts. Long live Michael's sexy swagger! In 1987, INXS led the Australian Invasion and it couldn't have been more welcome. Thank You Australia and the Hutchence family.

With much love,
Tamara Steele

I did not know Michael personally - I only knew him as my only addiction when listening to his music - he made me feel he was singing for me.

I have read “Just a Man” and want to thank his mother and sister for allowing me and everyone else who read it, to share their memories and special stories of their life with their Michael. My heart goes out to all of his family who loved and cherished him so much.

“Just a Man” - but a brilliant and unforgettable one at that.

my heart goes out to all who knew michael.i am so glad i found this site as i found it hard to express my feelings for michael, being a fan an not truly knowing him. i felt so much love for him i could hardly belive it myself.i felt numb when i heard of his death an i think i will never really feel the same. i used to dream of meeting him and wondering what i would say and if he would live up to my expectations.seeing this website has proved to me he would have been all and more than i ever could have imagined.thankyou for proving that i was right to think of him as my idol. I can see michael was a great inspiration and well worth every minute i grieved for him. He is greatly missed but his music will live on in my family for ever. xxx

my first concert was INXS in SECC in GLASGOW about'88 '89 i couldn't beleive a band could sound so real live or a lead singer could be as charismatic, powerful, and intense as michael was that night

I saw INXS in my hometown in 1988 on thier KICK support tour. My cousin was visting from England so I took him along. Great show !! I saw them again two months before Michaels death in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina at the House of Blues and we were right down the front. I'll never forget that show. They were on fire.I'm a working musician myself and sure they influenced my playing.Love the new anthology CD. I will always have fond memories of those two shows.

It's now 2001. I can finally listen to INXS again. I know you're not supposed to get so hung up on some rock star, but I did. And you all know why. I'm glad I'm not alone. I know INXS was more than just a lead singer, but Michael was special. I can still feel his spirit whenever I hear his voice. And I always will.

you were the best Michael. Your songs and voice will be heard for evermore. Hope you're smiling down on us all

Way back in June 1988 I was fortunate enough to get tickets to see INXS at London's Wembley Arena. I'd been a fan for a few months and was amazed to get seats in the front row.

It was a brilliant gig and I can remember singing all the words and bopping up and down to the music. Imagine my surprise when I suddenly realised that Michael had jumped down and was coming towards me!

Girls behind me were going crazy trying to push me out of the way but I stood my ground. With that Michael grabbed hold of my hand and continued to sing “Listen like Thieves” while I must have looked totally shocked!

As he finished he smiled, tweaked my nose, patted me on the head and jumped back on stage. Everyone around me went potty and started screaming about how lucky I was but I think I was still in a daze!

All these years later the memory still makes me smile and not a day goes by when I don't think of Michael and all the joy that he gave to us.

Mr. and Mrs. Hutchence

The nature of this correspondence is to “try” to extend the feelings of sorrow and compassion to those who were closest to Michael.

I had the privilege of seeing Michael with INXS once. It was in 1988, here in Toronto. The words Michael expressed through music, has left a deep impression on my outlook on life forever. If I still shed tears over his absence and we never met, my heart and mind can only begin to imagine the loss all of you must have experienced. Words fail me as to how to articulate the compassion I possess for you.

Thank you for the gift of Michael, I will always love and respect him for the feelings of well-being he transmitted, thank you.

I was a young girl when I first heard INXS. Part of what got me through my difficult adolescence was listening to great music that came out in the 80's and early 90's like INXS'. I remember having front row seats to 3 INXS concerts and seeing Michael up-close and smiling at me. These are some of the highlights of my youth. My heart goes out to Tiger, the rest of Michael's family and friends.

May The Loved One Rest in Peace,
Monica

What a wonderful way to celebrate the life of Michael Hutchence. INXS was the first band I ever fell in “love” with. As with so many other young girls, especially with Michael. Not only his voice but his wonderful enthusiasm and spirit. How deeply saddened I was when I heard how he had passed away. Even though he is no longer with us and it has been many years since I was that young girl with a crush I still get that same feeling when I listen to him sing. I am deeply sorry for your loss. God bless.
