Dearest Michael,

Still missing you more than ever. I would'nt say I am getting over you, but today I listened to your solo album and for the first time I just listened and enjoyed what you left us. No tears just a big smile. Love you always, miss you forever.

Anyone,

Picked up the Anthology collection this evening. So much of my youth was spent listening to INXS evolve over the years. I never had a problem finding girls that were interested in any of the extra tickets I had when ever they were on tour. The albums and lyrics are modern classics. My very first album was Listen like thieves....I was 15 yrs old. My first INXS concert was the pre Kick world tour warm up at UVM's Patrick's Gymnasium. I'm going to miss the anticipation of the next new release as time passes. Its hard to believe it has been almost 4 yrs now. I hope that the rest of the band finds its way back to the music. Not that any one could replace Micheal's pressence. I and many of my friends were excited to hear about the show with Terrance. Personally the idea of the possibilities of such a musical union seem very interesting!

Rest in Peace Mike. INXS's music will always “Shine Like It Does”.

For Michael

If I could turn the clock back now
To just 4 years ago
And if I could have known back then
What now today I know
I would have loved you anyway
That wouldn't change at all
And I would have tried to be there
To catch you from your fall.
I know your pictures lied to me
Because I know the rock star hell.
And it wasn't just me you were lying to
But to yourself as well.
Was I to blame for the hollowness
The ran behind those moon drop eyes?
Was I the one you pushed to please
Just to try and make me sigh?
Did you ignore the warning signs
Or were they just in vein?
You know I would give anything
To have you back again.
I never got to say good-bye
You never knew I loved you.
But your words and music touched my soul
And gave me smiles from blue.
If I could turn the clock back now
To just four years ago
I wouldn't have wanted to not have known you
And I'll never let you go.

I'll never forget the day my parents said “no”, in going to the INXS concert back in '88 or '89. I guess being 13 was too young to attend, inside the “late” Montreal Forum. Out of all my friends, I would still like to believe that I loved Michael the most. I continued to follow their music after KICK, digging into their earlier work. Michael Hutchence was a gorgeous man with a beautiful voice, and my heart goes out to his family and friends who have lost his closeness. Thank you for this site.

As one does, I happened upon this site for the first time whilst on the net. As an avid INXS fan I have an obvious interest, however, after becoming a father, losing my father, getting married and going through all the highs and lows of life, I can imagine what Kelland has gone through since Michael's death.

I decided to ignore all the media hoohah surrounding his death and the years to follow as who will ever know what really happened and why. I just kept listening to the music.

I just wanted to pass onto Kelland that his son's music and band continue to provide me with inspiration and different perspectives on life. This has been the case through the different stages of my life, as a teenager and now a 25 year old man. It must be heartwarming to know how much your son's gift has touched people so far and wide. What a proud father and grandfather you must be.

I hope you get to see this Kelland, how humble a man you must be for your son's gift of humanity.

Thank you to the family members for creating this web site, it is heart warming for those who miss Michael. I was lucky enough to have met Michael in a Sydney bar about 8 years ago. He was by himself standing next to me with a bottle of beer. So I decided to talk him and I found him very down-to-earth and a nice person to talk to. My husband Jan and I will always miss Michael and will not stop listening to INXS because they are the greatest band!

P.S. and to David from Canada from 7.10.01. About the Farris bros. this is only your opinion, anyone who is a fan of INXS will know who the Farris brothers are.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the music of Michael Hutchence and INXS - well, actually I still do enjoy their music very much. With another anniversary of Michael's sad death approaching I would like to extend my sympathies to all of his family and friends.

I was a really big fan of INXS throughout highschool, in the late 80's and early 90's. Their music got me through some very difficult times and I just wanted to say thank you for setting up this site. It is a beautiful way to pay tribute to a man that left a mark on the world with his inspiring music. Thank You!

I remember seeing Michael with INXS in small pubs & clubs in Sydney & Wollongong from 1985 to 1988. These venues were often overcrowded, with people “jammed” together.

But true to Michaels' form he always reved up the crowd & in turn the audience thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Indeed it was a sad day when Michael passed away but if you look at his beautiful daughter Tiger Lily, he will live on through her.

Although I never knew him personally, my fondest memory of him sharing a jug of beer with us: by throwing the beer wildly into the audience & we were splashed with the smallest of dropplets. My head nearly exploded. What a memory!!

Now we all only have memories & mine are relived by listening to my INXS albums.

PS: I can hardly wait for the Anthology Album to go on sale, for more good memories.

MANY YEARS AGO I SAW MICHAEL PRESENTING AN AWARD IN AN AMERICAN MUSIC SHOW, THIS WAS WHEN HE FIRST SHAVED HIS HEAD. I CAN DISTINCTLY REMEMBER THE COMMENT THAT ONE OF THE FARIS BROTHERS MADE, HE SAID IN RESPONSE TO MICHAEL SHAVING HIS HEAD “I GUESS WE HAVE TO CUT UP OUR GOLD CARDS NOW” SO YOU SEE IT IS KIND OF PATHETIC THAT THE FARIS BROTHERS PLACED SO MUCH EMPHASIS OM MICHAELS IMAGE THAT MADE THE BAND POPULAR, BUT TO THIS DAY THEY WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE AMOUNT OF INFLUENCE THAT MICHAEL HAD WITH MAKING THE BAND HUGE. THE FARIS BROTHERS DISCOUNT MICHAEL AS JUST ANOTHER SINGER THAT WILL PASS THROUGH THE INXS DOORS. WHAT THE FARI BROTHERS DONT REALISE IS THE NOBODY OUTSIDE OF AUSTRALIA KNOWS WHO THE FARIS BROTHERS ARE, INXS WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE MICHAEL, THE REMAINING MEMBERS ARE JUST VULTURES FEEDING OF WHAT MICHAEL LEFT BEHIND.

Thursday October 4th 2001 MuchMusic (Canada) had special on INXS. The remaining members advised the band will continue, indicating that in essence, the music is the same. Please note that I take exception to this, and the sonic quality was established with the characteritics of Michael Hutchence. The remaining members ought to consider changing their band name, so we do not confuse this “trademark” with their new sound, which of course is not a collective effort of the founding members. Without any disrespect, the remaining members of the band are not so musically inclined, or more specific - they are not so individually distinct, to provide any sense of similarity with the era with Michael, and the new era they embark. Michael was the voice and sound of INXS, and without him, there is no future of that band. It appears to be a business decision to continue with their recognized “brand name” than for the remaining musicians to make their own sound and contribution.

Please be fair, and not delete this message.

Lisa - your song is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Here's the song that makes me think of Michael now. It's a James Taylor song and I won't post the whole thing because it doesn't all apply but the chorus does so I will post it...

“I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again”

I do miss you, Michael. It all ended too soon.

As with most people, watching the ARIA's made me think of Michael a lot more these days. It is about time that INXS were inducted into the Hall Of Fame. It is sad that time passes so fast and we sometimes are too busy to remember people and events of recent years. It does not mean we have forgotten them and in this particular case, someone like Michael. Of course l didn't know him personally although like most Australians, l grew up with him and INXS. The ARIA's were a great tribute to all in the band. I bawled my eyes out. Although it did lead me to this site, which is beautifully set up to honour a much loved son, and in general a much loved person.

This song makes me think of you Dear Michael..

~Angel's Son~

Life is changing
I can't go on without you
Rearranging, I will be strong
I'll stand by you

(You were fighting everyday)
(So hard to hide the pain)
(I know you never said goodbye)
(I had so much left to say)

One last song
Given to an angel's son
As soon as you were gone
As soon as you were gone

I have a new life now
She lives through you
What can I do
I feel so alone now
I pray for you
We still love you

I can't believe you're gone
I can't believe

(written by LaJon Witherspoon/Clint Lowery)

I'll never forget you darling Michael.
