Dear Michael,

Today, marks {{{27}}} years you left this planet. I remember reading this tragic news on a Saturday night in my Mums kitchen…. I (like the rest of the world) was in shock…. You and your band played in Canada, unfortunately I wasn’t blessed to see you perform live…always regretted that. Anyhow, I could never let this day go by without coming out here to say a few words. Michael Hutchence you are missed, not only by me, but by many millions around the world. My good friend Graeme Lang, we work (at a bar) and, he even took (for years voice lessons…to capture your style. He’s nailed it. We both are huge fans of yours. We talk about you and your band many, many, times . I’m on the door and Graeme pours the beverages ….when we hear your music playing through the speakers….sometimes our eyes lock or I can see my friend singing while serving the customer. He’s, not only good …he’s great at singing your songs. We will toast a wee bevy to you, Michael Hutchence…who is dearly missed from this planet 🌎. Our wish to you…. Be Happy.

Your music has been the soundtrack of my life. From Shabooh Shoobah to Elegantly Wasted so many moments of my life were reflected and amplified by your music and artistry. You were one of greatest voices of a generation. Hard to believe that it has been 27 years since the world lost such an amazing talent. I often wonder what music you would have made if you had not left the world behind. Thank you for your gifts, the music is and will always be timeless.

My one regret is never seeing INXS live,what an absolute talent Michael was,such a loss to the world,talented young man.

I would so love to have known you. You sound like such a wonderful person. I feel the pain of your family's loss.

I was very shocked but also proud that Michael attended the school I am currently working in.
Beacon Hill School in Kowloon Hong Kong.
I would love to know the year he graduated from BHS as I have old yearbooks dating from 1970.

You were an incredible talent and precious gift to the world. And still greatly missed...

Dear Michael,

I was born in 2001, so I didn't directly grow up with your music and I first heard of you from my dad (who is also a fan), but I was so captivated by your life and artistry that I started listening to your music on my own.

I heard from the Mystify documentary that you had an appreciation for philosophy, and that you were self-conscious of your image as an artist, wishing to be appreciated for your songwriting and not just seen as a sex symbol. Well, I find some of your lyrics so deeply touching and inspiring that they almost make me cry, so I hope you knew during your life that you WERE a true artist.

Here is a selection of my favourite lyrics, which I wish to share with everyone reading this:
- "If I hurt you, I'd make wine from your tears"
- "Climbing as we fall, we dare to hold on to our fate, and steal away our destiny to catch ourselves with quiet grace"
- "And my selfish ways disappeared one day, with the realisation of the new way. Images of the free, coming into view, our hearts full of promises of all we can do"
(I could definitely think of more, but I'll leave it here for the sake of this message not being too long).

Your music has helped me through so much, including recently inspiring me to start singing again after 5 years ago I quit trying to be a singer due to my own personal demons. And I am just one fan out of millions. You made such a mark on the world and you are so, so missed.

I feel incredibly sad when I think about everything that happened to you (not just your passing, but everything leading up to it too). I'm sorry you were in so much pain. I really hope that wherever you are now, you are at peace.

And I send my condolences to your family and friends. I can't imagine their pain.

I miss you every day

I listen to INXS music over and over and Michael gets more charismatic the more I listen. To this day, one of the biggest losses! I loved him and his music!

I simply loved the bones of Michael, even though I never met him, I felt as though I knew him. I'm now 54 and went to see INXS when I was a late teenager twice. What scares me is I'm now so much older than Michael was when he died but still see him as the older gorgeous guy as time has stood still since. My friend and I often send each other pics of Michael when we need a boost or if it's our birthday, or simply a 'happy Friday'- you were that special Michael. We grew up knowing you and your memory lingers on in us. Wish I could've met you but it was never to be. At least we got to spend some time with you albeit in the company of thousands of others!! I still think you saw me-yes, I was the one in the crowd with the red dress on and I had long black hair! Love you Michael-always!! Love to your existing family/friends too and how proud you would be of them all for remembering you in this very special way XXXX

Happy INXS Day! It's Tim's birthday but still a great reason to post on this site and wish everyone a fabulous and fun INXS Day filled with music, laughter and goodwill.

I wish Michael was here to witness this universal INXS Day and know that there's still plenty of love for him and his music.

I loved listening to his music and watching him sing. He was so beautiful and full of life.Gone way to soon RIP Michael. You will be forever missed. Still missing you,Janet Mccauley
