I remember seeing INXS open for Adam Ant at St. Johns University way back when...I was already a fan of both so you can imagine what a treat it was seeing two of my favourite bands on the same night! I'm still a fan and miss Micheal more than ever! He is the heart, soul and face of INXS!

I miss Michael and INXS so very much. I am a loyal fan especially from his music from the 80's. This memorial site is such a wonderful way to celebrate and reflect his life. I was wondering if there is anyway to obtain some of the old concert T-shirts possibly or maybe some new ones can be printed for his fans.

I haven't visited this website in awhile, but Michael is never out of my thoughts...I watched “Dogs In Space” last night, and watching and listening to him sing “Rooms For The Memory” takes me to my own rooms in my own memory of Michael and the band. I saw them in concert on all their tours, and I guess more than anything, I ache to hear Michael's voice on a new track that will never come. But I will always have my own “Rooms For The Memories” and I will always cherish those. Thanks to Michael and the band, those times will always bring a smile to my face and a euphoric feeling in my soul! All the true Michael/INXS fans out there know what I'm sayin! Michael was a bright light that went out too soon, but he left a wonderful gift to each and everyone of us...he had a way of making us all feel that he was reaching out to us personally, that is why he is missed so much. Rest in Peace Dear Michael, you have earned it with your karma. Look at all the love you generated! Until I think of you again....Peace

it is so hard to write these words about hutch,as i liked to call him. i am chico rey a bass player and friend.he was the nicest guy and what a star. man he always had a smile for me, and on the last tour in ny,my friend lynn, and martha.were working with the band. we shared the miracle of life my son charlie was born and he and paula had tiger lilly,he was so happy for me and i was for them both as well. my dad had died 2 days before my baby was born and he said some beautiful words to me the wheel of life turns, takes one soul away and gives back another. man it just made me understand a little more about life, and what a great guy hutch was. i have tried to understand why this tradgedy happened and i can only tell of my own great ups and downs in the maddness we call music business. there were times when the drugs and artistic failure compounded with the pressures of life. and most of all trying to help everyone else and forgetting about yourself, can lead one to despair. and i have thought about it myself. some how i climbed back to life and have moved on.dear hutch there isnt a day that i dont think of him or a week that goes by that i have to play his music.his voice lives on 4 ever, nothing can replace it,or his personal presence. i feel better writting this and i love and miss you hutch. love chico rey

I've been an INXS fan since 1982 and met the band in 1983 at Magic Mountain in Valencia, California. I found out about Michael's death while in Belize, I was on my honeymoon, I married on November 22, 1997.

I JUST found this website. I did not know it was here. I miss Michael and found his death so tragic and confusing. My daughter is named Kylie after Kylie Minoque. I have a People magazine from when he passed and my husbnad saw it when I was pregnant. A pic of Michael and Kylie was in it, so that is how she got her name. The music world is still grieving for you as are your fans. I hope you have found that peace you were looking for.

I started listening to INXS in the early 80s when I was just a little girl. They grew to be my favorite band, and I listened to them day and night. I got the privilege to see them twice -- once in '88 and once in '97 (in Sept.) -- both times I managed to get to the front row (you can have anything you want in life so long as you have the will to do it... it was my will to be close to INXS during their concerts because that was “my band”). I touched Michael so much at the '97 concert that I felt stupid. I could only touch his famous black boots so much, ya know... I even got to touch Jon (wow, what a treat... he is so gorgeous). And, I'm sure Tim got tired of me throwing my cigarettes at him. I just wanted him to notice me!

God, I loved and still love INXS so much. I loved their music, and their music was such an integral part of my childhood and my most formidable years when I was developing as a person. I sit here now, almost 29 years old, and I look back and see how fast the time has passed. Shabooh Shabah is in my tape player today... I couldn't believe it when Michael left this world. Michael, you were meant for another place, and it was your destiny, as you were so ambitious and driven to put your soul out into this world. Patience... INXS was so great to see live, and was and still is a great band. While all band members are wonderful, Michael was a huge part of INXS, and INXS lost so much when they lost Michael. What a perfect angle Michael brought to the band.... in so many ways he was the heart of INXS, as he was the front man. His sex appeal, his energy, his talents, his passionate and ambitious soul.... Michael is where he needs to be now. The only type of person that could even measure up to replacing Michael would be someone that has as much soul and passion for expression, life, and the world of spirit and people that Michael so embraced.

This band will forever be a part of my soul and passion for life.

Thank you, INXS, for your passion and your spirit in musical expression.

Michael will be forever missed. Keep evolving, INXS.

Michael was a huge part of my growing up. I had his pictures all over my walls. I had the privilege of seeing INXS live twice and will never forget either show. I am still sad to this day that he is gone. He was such a special talent and had such amazing charisma. I hope that he is looking down on us and is aware of how much he touched the lives of so many people with his gifts. I miss you Michael!!

The night before the premiere of the mtv show about Michael's life,Behind the Music, I had a dream about Michael. I always admired him but never had I dreamt of him. In my dream he was my boyfriend. No suprise there but as we sat among friends I pointed out to them how he had died and came back again. Now he was just another guy and not a rock star. They thought that was cool and nothing about it was odd so we all just hung out. While watching the show with my daughter I kept thinking of the dream. During the last set of commercials I told her about it. Imagine our suprise when the lyrics read “ I just want to slide away and come alive again.” My daughter totally freaked out! I think it was an honest connection to a man I unfortunatly never had the privelidge of meeting in this lifeime. Who knows maybe in the next.

Brother,
As you were so very talented and capable, and universally so, I, and the world, will miss your innovation, intuition, concientiousness toward a discipline so elusive to the most passionate of people who strive to create. I miss you today, Michael, in music, international, yet intimate.

I'll never forget the amazing Elegantly Wasted concert in SA. It was the highlight of my 1997 year. Seeing you live was a dream come true.

No one can ever replace your awesome strage prescence and personality.

Love and miss you always
Theresa
