Dear Michael, I will never forget the first time I seen you on MTV in the music video "The One Thing " , I was truly mesmerized by you. I loved you the first time I seen you and fell in love each time a new video came out. You were a true inspiration and the greatest frontman of all time. I was so very lucky to have seen you with Inxs X factor tour on February 14,1991. Best concert ever !!! Thank you for giving us the Gift of your music !!! You are truly missed and loved. Saw INXS twice during my high school days in the 80’s. It was during this time I fell in love with the band and the voice and soul of Michael Hutchence. It’s January 2021 and I am here wishing Michael Happy Birthday, (turning 50 on the 28th myself!) and reliving my sadness for losing him all those years ago. I listen to them often and I am taken aback at how current and timeless their sound and lyrics remain.

From the corner of the sofa, through the chink of golden light, in the middle of the room, on an abnormally big screen, I saw you. The beautiful figure of the musician with parted lips and intensively bright eyes. I was overcome by a strange feeling of anxiety. I knew that I was standing before a man whose very personality was so fascinating that it was bound to swallow my whole being, all of my soul, and start to fill me up with a completely new kind of life. Life that I would start to experience in a way unknown to me. I knew that your personality and music would give my mundane activities the charm that I had struggled to find and failed.

Due to lockdown I was watching more youtube videos than usual - mostly music of my youth-the 80ties. For many on this planet it' s the best music ever- many talented young men composed hits just like on a production line.
INXS is always on my " to listen list".
A few days ago I was wondering how Michael Hutchens-sexiest rockstar of the 80ties- could look like today -as a middle age man. After short "googling" I learned that he d' died in 1997.
I cannot remember that I've heard about it.
In 1997 I was living between Germany and my homeland Poland , and we had no this kind of western "gossip press " . I knew nothing about Michael's privat life- for me he was just a superb front man, singer of INXS.
I remember in 1991 I was hearing an audio cassette "Graetest hits "on my 20 hours holiday bus travell to Spain - I' ve bought the cassette on a black market in post communist Poland. "By my side " was my favorite, and I was hearing this song again and again.
Anyway owing to internet I' ve learned something about Michael' s life, his famous girl friends, family, and last years as father . It inspired me to write something , a kind of poem -maybe someone like it.

You spent not enough time here...

That night in November, no one at your side
at the point of no return...?

mystified for ever...
Wherever your spirit might be now,

and a beautiful girl-in a lavender field
telling you -„Never tear us apart” .
The time slips away, elegantly wasted
by many , but not you-
-you lived your life in excess ,with passion
giving love to family and friends ,

I would like to disappear for a while
and occur in your perfect universe

You were Heaven Sent. But had a little of the Devil Inside also . Hearing you sing gave me a New Sensation and made my troubles Disappear. But no more Bitter Tears will be shed and you will always Stay Young. So I Send A Message that even though you are no longer here with us you are truly The Loved One and nothing will stop the After Glow of The Gift you gave us. There's Not Enough Time in the world to say What You Need to say to somebody who was such a big part of my life emotionally and still is. Hi I just wanted to say how great of a rockstar Michael is. I have never heard of INXS before but I stumbled upon one of their songs called Got To let You Know & that just got me dancing. What got my attention in Michael is his sense of style & beauty. Its nice to know that he has millions of fans that would definitely miss his talent. He is one of a kind! My prayers are with his family & friends, I really can't imagine the pain they are going through although it's been over 20 years since his passing .
