from the bottom of my heart
I feel that, had INXS faded into obscurity, or never “made it” to begin with, the spirit of Michael Hutchence would have nonetheless left a significant impression on the spirit world. By spirit world, I mean the ball of string that is the connectedness of all that lives or has lived.
I don't care that it sounds crazy when I say that I have spoken to him in my dreams. I believe that what happens in dreams is very real indeed, and when Michael found his way into mine, I knew I was just one dream of many, many others. I have always listened to his music, and that was what I heard as I walked outside of my apartment and, to my surprise, found him there- just singing. Nothing I've ever heard before, but he stopped when I came out, and said that most people did not like his music in that capacity. Perhaps he meant that most people do not listen to their dreams. He gave me a hug, spoke to me a bit more, then I woke up.
His spirit is so vibrant, so full of love, selflessness, passion, compassion, openness, and a teeny bit of hedonism, from what I could gather, and I mean that in the best of ways- I mean that he is enjoying the afterlife even more than he enjoyed life. I sincerely believe that he continues to connect with us, and that he really is still with us all, and happier than ever that he is so well loved.
I would normally not come out and say things like this, because people often find the idea off-putting, but I feel like it is my responsibility to remind you (and I'm sure many of you don't need reminding) to listen to your dreams, to feel your love as fully and passionately as you can, and not to let the melancholy of earthly existence get you down. There are many in search of kindered spirits, of loved ones, and Michael is beloved of all here.

Just finished the INXS autobiography and cried like a baby. I had tickets to see them November 16, 1994 in Rochester, NY. On the way to college I heard on the radio that the show was cancelled. I was quite upset. It was not until later when I came to the realization that that had been my last and only chance to see Michael sing live that I was devastated. The cancellation of that show has bothered me ever since. I don't know why they cancelled that day but I just cannot put this to rest. Reading the book has brought it all back once again.

Michael I will always be sad for that missed opportunity. I hope you are in a better place.

I felt compelled to send a message to Michael tonight. I'm not sure why, but I do. Tonight as I was driving home from a friends house after a lovely evening I put on some INXS music to listen to in the car. As “Beautiful Girl” came on I just started crying as I was listening to the words. He had such great talent. A talent that doesn't exist in the new artists these days. He will be missed forever!

Dear Michael,

I feel like giving celebration on your 47th birthday from here Japan.
17 years ago, I had traveled to Sydney searching for you. It was ridiculus but serious then.
As I think you are not only being like a very human like evil as “devil inside” but also a preacher who seriously hope for our happiness in “New Sensation”.
Without other members of INXS, such an splendid music creation never coming.
Thank you for this site.I love INXS!

Love, Satomi

Michael,
Sorry to miss your birthday this year mate, but here's to you and everything you've done and continue to do for us all. Your music and passion was an inspiration to me since the early 80's when I first heard the band. Thank God your music lives on, because the world misses you. -P. Childs

I remember it was in 1987 in a night club call Les Bains Douches in Paris. Michael and I danced together during at least 3 songs. It was very cool. I was 18 at that time. He never tried to seduce me or something, we were juste dancing really great. As he was wellknown people started to make a circle around us. It is probably because of that, that he stopped the dance. He said thank you very much to me and lived. It was a great moment of dance in my life. Peace to him !

I can remember when i was young and my older brother was listening to a song called War of the world. The song was played that much that the song grew on me and from that point i was hooked by this awsome singer who grabbed life and held on for the ride. It wasn't for a few years later when i met my husband who had the same song and many more and then i remembered all the songs that i listened to when i was growing up. I liked the band so much that my husband went out and brouth me a book that was written by Michaels brother Rhett. It was just so touching that i couldn't put it down. I finished reading the book about 1 week later and i was moved to tears. My husband and i were married last year and we both wanted to have “By My Side” played at our wedding. Whenever i hear that song it sends shivers up and down my spine.
Thanks again for the memories. Your fans miss you and adore you heaps. RIP. Jenny

Just a quick note to a man that is sadly miss from this world that we live in.

Michael, please except my apology in not touching base with you sooner. This is a belated birthday greeting, although I wasn't able to be here on that very special day of yours. I will say this much...I didn't forget that day, I played a lot of your tunes that day, and also wished you a “Happy Birthday”. Although, it's been 9 yrs since your departure, I still can't believe your not here. You've left behind some powerful music, which still sounds {{{grrreat}}}.

You'll always be miss mate. Hope your happy... Keep smiling mate, til we meet again.

Cynthia

I have a sort of interesting story.
Way back when, on September 5th, 1986 I had the privilage of seeing my favorite band INXS. The concert was held at San Diego State College. A Local radio station 91x had a contest. If you made a banner that said INXS / 91X you might win a chance to go back stage. Well I got lucky and got to go back stage. I was only 19 and pretty much very shy, and star struck. But I had brought along my album cover hoping to get some autographs. It was one of the best and most memerable moments in my life, was when I had Michael, Gary, and Kirk sign my album cover. I had the album cover framed, and it's been hanging up ever since. A couple of years ago, I'm not too sure how long after Michael died, I was looking at the album cover remminissing of the good time. Suddenly I noticed something. Michael's signature had disappeared. You can still see the indentation where he wrote his name but the ink is gone. Gary and Kirk's ink still remains. I just wanted to share my story with other people who would care. Michael's voice, and song's will always have a special place in my heart. If you think that they would be interested, please pass this on to the other band members. I keep hoping INXS will come play in Honolulu. Thanks, Michele

Being only 17, i wasn't there when INXS were the littrually the 'new sensation' in rock 'n' roll, and i wish that i was alive or even old enough to experience what Michael and INXS gave to millions around the world through their music. When i first heard INXS i was 9 years old, the song was 'Need You Tonight' and my first reaction was 'Who is this band, INXS, and, oh my god, who is this man with this talanted voice!' And it was true, Michael had the most talanted voices i had ever heard and so i continued to listen and talk about how great they were(i should also point out that most of the girls my age were listening to Hanson or the Backstreet Boys, so no one really cared about what i had to say about 'some old band'). Now being olded, and have listen to more music, old and new, i will still say that Michael is the most talanted musician and gifted writter. My thoughts go out to his family and friends and i know as long as we listen to the music he made, his memory will live on forever. ROCK ON MICHAEL!
