Faced with the challenge of inappropriate messages being posted in the past, we have resorted to pre-approving all guestbook entries before they appear in Michael's Guestbook. I clearly remember being in Middle School, putting my school book, folders & notebooks on the desk and everyone asking, “What does I N X S mean?”. I explained that it was the best rock band ever. Many of the kids never heard of INXS. Maybe it was closer to 8th grade I was totally into INXS (along with U2..sorry). I was deaply into human rights, animal rights, my rights...all that stuff. Everything INXS sang about seemed like they were only singing to me and about my issues. Listening to Micheal on headphones at full blast was the best sort of feeling I can remember. Singing only to me and only I could understand all the lyrics. It was about that time in my life I began to write poems and song lyrics (I think all teeagers do that). I was into my “dark faze” as my Mother put it. Everyday wearing a faded jean jacket with the letters INXS on the top and a huge peace sign with a tear drop right in the middle. Still many kids didn't know what INXS meant. Later after I graduated HighSchool, I still listened to INXS. Putting the old faded jean jacket away, packed up all the old poems and song lyrics and got a “real job”. One of my close friends at the time was a DJ at a local college. I asked him to mix INXS music with club (dance music) and the crowd went insane. Everyone asking him what were the songs he was playing. To this day I laugh because those were the kids who never heard of INXS. Now as a 34yr old (yikes), my 17 yr old niece was looking into my old HighSchool junk. Found all my INXS concert tickets, concert t-shirts, pictures, posters, albums (No CD's then), all kinds of stuff I forgot about. Coming across that old faded jean jacket was a kick back! We listen to KICK about 5 times until I told her I'd buy a CD for her. I have turned on a new generation to your wonderful songs and lyrics. Micheal Hutchence voice is still alive and kicking in a 17 yr old's CD player. She also has my huge INXS banner that covers her bedroom wall like it did in my old room. Yes, she took that old faded jean jacket too. Thank you for all my wonderful memories. Micheal Hutchence will forver invade a speaker somewhere at anytime. My niece is living proof. And to the rest of the band and to all the families, Michael will forever live in your hearts and souls as he does within mine.
