Please note:
Faced with the challenge of inappropriate messages being posted in the past, we have resorted to pre-approving all guestbook entries before they appear in Michael's Guestbook. We also ask you to enter your email address. It won't be displayed on the site but will help us to keep the guestbook organised as well as allowing us to reply to as many as possible with a word of gratitude. Thanks for understanding.
Asa Abraham Gregory, 12.07.2005
Greenville, NC USA
Ashland, Virginia 1987-88...

As a 10/11 year old in a new place with no friends, I used to take “long baths,” where I would play my Kick tape start to finish at least twice...dancing, singing, dreaming!

INXS was one of my first two bands that I discovered or appreciated on my own. They made me happy, helped to shape my childhood character and confidence, and gave me dreams to hold on to!

At the height of their 15 minute annoying fame, Oasis dismissed INXS as hasbeens. PFFT...I replied to a vile and musically talentless band that ripped off scores of great compositions for their “own” work.

One of my best friends telephoned me on the morning when the news broke that Michael was found. It was a “remember where you were” moment for me. I perfectly remember the phone call, the room, the time and stinging emptiness I felt.

Less than two years later, I made my way with a college group to Prague, Czech Republic and surrounding areas. One of the first questions I asked on the shuttle from the airport was in regard to the locations of the images I remember seeing as a young boy of the Videos for “Guns in the Sky,” “New Sensation,” and, especially “Never Tear Us Apart!!”

It was a healing time for me as an INXS fan. It was a wonderful experience in general, but I found the corners of Prague where the boys walked, forming images that were burned into my memory.

Thank you INXS for helping to shape who I am! Thank you Michael Hutchence for inspiring me and bringing joy into my life. You are painfully missed!
