it is so hard to write these words about hutch,as i liked to call him. i am chico rey a bass player and friend.he was the nicest guy and what a star. man he always had a smile for me, and on the last tour in ny,my friend lynn, and martha.were working with the band. we shared the miracle of life my son charlie was born and he and paula had tiger lilly,he was so happy for me and i was for them both as well. my dad had died 2 days before my baby was born and he said some beautiful words to me the wheel of life turns, takes one soul away and gives back another. man it just made me understand a little more about life, and what a great guy hutch was. i have tried to understand why this tradgedy happened and i can only tell of my own great ups and downs in the maddness we call music business. there were times when the drugs and artistic failure compounded with the pressures of life. and most of all trying to help everyone else and forgetting about yourself, can lead one to despair. and i have thought about it myself. some how i climbed back to life and have moved on.dear hutch there isnt a day that i dont think of him or a week that goes by that i have to play his music.his voice lives on 4 ever, nothing can replace it,or his personal presence. i feel better writting this and i love and miss you hutch. love chico rey
