In '82 or was it '83 I had the luck to see INXS, (they were opening for Men at Work) it was one of the best shows I can recall ever seeing. The pure energy and joy that came from Michael as he sang was unbelievable. The band was at that magic point when all the work, practise and effort starts to pay off. They were hot, they were playing real tight, and Hutch fairly glowed onstage. They were better than the act they were opening for. At that point, they were already a headline act, and as God is my witness Michael had no small part in that. Over the years as the band got more popular I couldn't help but smile as I heard folks talk about how hot Hutch was.
I knew I had seen someone unique and wonderful, the kind of person that only shows up every once in a great while. It's amazing as I write this how much anger and hurt is rising in me; It's been over two years since Michael died and still I ache for his passing. I loved his work, I loved his songs and I miss that oh so sweet voice of his. Much Love, deb
