I just saw your son's performance of “Searching” live on that “I'm Only Looking” DVD. It's so incredibly moving, so beautiful, the man was really a sensation; and it is so tragic to watch that video, because you can see he's just so full of life and love, and it breaks my heart that you don't have him here today. I lost 2 loved ones this year, and it just feels like the world can't hold anymore hurt without bursting. I played that segment of the video probably 50 times, and am glad it was catpured at least... I'm sure there are 1000's of great moments that were never captured except by those who saw it live in the moment. Sir, if you haven't seen it (you must have), then you gotta see it. It is amazing, one of the greatest performances I've seen of anyone anywhere, from opera to rock to jazz standards.
Anyway, my heart is broken for you, Mr. Hutchence, and your family. I hope there's something after this life. Jim Morrison, who's work I think your son must have liked at least a little, said, “We live, we die, and death not ends it”. I hope so.
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family and wishes that you'll all meet again (not too soon though!), in that better place.
