At the age of 11, I was lucky enough to be living in Sydney for several years right around the time the album “Beneath the Colours” was released, and I fell in love with what was at-the-time an unknown band.
After moving back to the US, “Listen like Thieves” came out to even more rave reviews than “Shabooh Shoobah”, and I felt like the world finally knew about MY BAND.
I can't begin to describe all the connection I felt to this band. It seemed that at every stage of my life, INXS was writing the soundtrack to my memories, and to my life.
For me, Michael Hutchence was as cool as you could get. No one had more style, more charisma, or more talent in the world.
To this day, I have only been brought to tears upon the news of the death of one celebrity, and that is Michael. In this day and age when bands come and go so quickly, to see a band that survived the test of time, and stayed with the same members, and continued to make great album after great album, it was truly something special.
Well, Michael, and to the rest of INXS, thank you for writing the soundtrack to my life.
