Please note:
Faced with the challenge of inappropriate messages being posted in the past, we have resorted to pre-approving all guestbook entries before they appear in Michael's Guestbook. We also ask you to enter your email address. It won't be displayed on the site but will help us to keep the guestbook organised as well as allowing us to reply to as many as possible with a word of gratitude. Thanks for understanding.

I have so much to say and I hope you don't mind if I take up some space in your guestbook. First of all I want to thank you for your generosity in sharing this web-site with all of us. I remember the day after Michael passed away. I saw a piece on the news and just couldn't believe it. I ran to the computer in shock to try to learn more on the internet. I saw that Hugo Burnham, whom I had met through work in the music industry, was also logged on. Recalling their work together I sent him a message.. “sad day isn't it.”... he responded acknowledging what had happened. I mentioned how my friend and I had bonded in college over Dogs in Space (her son is now my godson)... he responded “he was my friend.” I didn't know what to say. The sadness that filled my heart was inexplicable and similar to what I am feeling now after having read through the site. Working in the music industry I grow afraid to admit to having been a fan of anyone... but that was no day to hide it. INXS had played a major role in my life for years. I tried to support Hugo but what could I say? Michael Hutchence had touched my life without having ever spoken a word to me. To speak with someone who knew him the day after his death was an honor and I did what I could to console him. Michael was one of the few people who I had never met that I wished to meet. I truly thought I would one day. Obviously it was not meant to be. I remember mentioning INXS during a job interview with Atlantic Records... and later working there and being so happy to work at the label which they recorded with. Being an art major in college I began a painting of Michael, the only famous person I ever painted (i liked to paint friends and anonymous models), the painting showed Michael at peace. I was playing with painting borders at the time and placed a border around him of the sky with little cherubs throughout it.

Having been in much pain as a teenager I found peace in music and mostly in the music of INXS. I like to think that they effected my life in a positive way. At 27 I can now guide myself, but as a teenager I wished for an older brother like Michael.

I don't mean to go on and on and I don't really know what to say. I am so touched by the generosity of this site. Michael is the only person that I've never met that I feel a genuine affinity with. So I'm going to be selfish now, because even though I know what I feel can not possibly compare with that of those who knew him, I'm going to say I miss the friend I never made terribly, and I wish I could have met him. He would have been a good friend, and there were many times I could have used a good friend with a pure soul. But I'm also going to say this, I got more support and good company from this man I never met, than I did from many of the people that I have known.
