This is a beautiful site, but I still find it hard to believe that Michael is gone.
I so much enjoyed all the different aspects of this site; they bought many memories flooding back. I was part of a group of INXS fans back in the 80's who used to go to every INXS show in Sydney (and often country and/or interstate too). We were obsessed about INXS! We used to go backstage, we'd hang out at the recording studios; a couple of us even visited Michael at his terrace house in Paddington on Christmas Eve in 1985. And he was always wonderful to us, charming and sweet and funny - I don't know if *I'd* have been as tolerant of us as he was if I'd been him, but that's the person he was. He always had time for you, and always made you feel like you were the most important person in the world.
I was so shocked and saddened when I heard the news that November, I cried for hours until my eyes were swollen and sore. I just didn't want to believe it was true.
I loved the music he made, and I really loved the person I was so lucky to get to know (even though only as a 'fan'). One of my favourite memories of him was one night at Rhinocerous Studios, as we were waiting for him in the hallway to arrive so we could have a chat and ask him to sign some things for us - he came leaping down the hallway, and just jumped into the air with this yell of “yaaaaahhh!”!!!
So very Michael. 🙂 He loved his fans.
He always had time for us.
Well, as I said, many memories from visiting your wonderful site. Thank you. 🙂
