Hi there. Although it's been many years since Michael's death, I think of him often because like him, I too have manic-depression. (bi-polar disorder) I too am on Prozac and suffer deeply from depression and mania, and I have had my moments of wishing I could end my life. But, when I have those moments (and now that I am on meds they are few and far between) what keeps me going is the memory of your beautiful son. I listen to old INXS songs and feel his light, his energy, his gift, and I realize that I no longer want to die but want to LIVE! I want to live because I think that even though I was a total stranger to him, he would have been happy to know that his struggles as well as his wonderful music were enough to keep a fan going when life seemed too hard to continue with.
Thank you for your wonderful son and his legacy. I still have such fun listening to his music, but more than that, in my really dark moments he gives me a reason to go on.
What a legacy that is.
Love,
Tracy Steen
