I remember very well the impact Michael's music has on my life, my growth and love for music and dance. My mother knew I was a fan and surprised me with tickets one late night after working a retail shift. I brought my boyfriend at the time and the experience was larger than life. I loved his freedom of expression, his voice, his sexuality and .. there was a stark genuine nature about him that spoke to me. I carry that to this day. I had the opportunity to meet him and the "Ferris Brothers" and was handed a mic to interview them..they signed my handkerchief. My mother (RIP) had informed me that they were in town that day being interviewed by City Pulse or something. People's talent and presence, indirect or direct, never leave us. I'm so very thankful to him for his talents and sharing with the world his artistic expression and genuine nature. I was moved by his personality ("good and bad") and grew from it in a way that has stayed with me for life; and all my dearest friends know this. THANK YOU.. to Michael .. and his band, for leaving a mark on all of us who shared a time of growth, learning, expression, and living life to its fullest. May he forever rest in peace.
