I remember the first time I ever saw INXS on MTV, I was 13, and it was the video for “Elagantly Wasted”. From that video, I thought they were just another wierd Rock band, but then I heard the song on the radio all the time, and really started listening to the music, and the lyrics. I fell in love with it, and with Michael's voice. I went out and bought the CD, and have bought several since, I still don't have the entire collection, but I'm working on it, and I do have his amazing solo album.
I am not sure what it is, but his voice has this amazing effect over me, it is just so calming. I love that, and I miss that. His music has helped me get through some tough times in my life, and for that I am in his debt!!!
He was an amazing man, and I still can't belive he's gone, I certainly can't believe it's been two years exactly, today, since I heard the sad news. I was in the car with my grandma, and they announced it on the radio, my mouth dropped open, and I was in total shock. When the shock finally wore off, I remember lying in bed that same night thinking that there was no way it could possibly be true, and I just cried myself to sleep. Now I know I never really knew Michael in person, but I was able to get to know him through his wonderful music, which touched my heart like no other. He was, and still is someone I look up to and admire, I will alwayz miss him, and he will forever be in my heart!!!
