Amazing Australian
Did your eyes foretell what was going to happen?
Eyes that had encountered so many cheerful ones
beautiful women, expensive champagne
But why so suddenly?
While we were waiting for the bus,
getting our sleep, enjoying the weather
How funny, pleasing so many but
not yourself
How sad, the loved one waving
goodbye
We could hear you, touch you,
miss you and adore you
But not keep you
Just one moment away
But yet so far
Everything impossible, out of reach
but to listen – trying to
UNDERSTAND
