How can I make what I need to say about Michael short enough? In 1983 at the age of 12 I discovered INXS thru my older brother's music collection. I fell in love with his voice;then I saw his picture, and that was the end. 27 years later I still feel the same. In 1988 my friend and I met INXS at their hotel in MN. We stayed all night in the parking lot so I could meet Michael the next a.m.,by arrangement of Bruce Patron, whom we'd met that day. Michael was gracious, kind, down-to-earth, (which was AMAZING considering his status in the music world at that time)...he flashed his smile. He made conversation. He was a beautiful soul, I could see it. I'll never forget him saying,“Wow, look at all the Deadheads,that's SO COOL” as the Grateful Dead were playing that evening across the street, (I told him my brother was there). He was beautiful and as a 12 year-old I thought because of his eyes and his songs that he MUST be my soulmate. Alas, IF ONLY!!! 🙂
