Please note:
Faced with the challenge of inappropriate messages being posted in the past, we have resorted to pre-approving all guestbook entries before they appear in Michael's Guestbook. We also ask you to enter your email address. It won't be displayed on the site but will help us to keep the guestbook organised as well as allowing us to reply to as many as possible with a word of gratitude. Thanks for understanding.

Canada
I was introduced to Michael Hutchence and INXS in the late 80's by my sister. She was older than me and a big fan of the band, especially Michael Hutchence. I shared a room with her at the time and her entire 'half' of the room was literally covered in pictures of INXS and Michael Hutchence. I spent hours looking at these pictures and reading captions about this rock band that she loved so much. Of course, although not yet a fan, I also spent many more hours listening to Michael Hutchence and INXS while she did. As I grew older, I began to appreciate the music that she had exposed me to. Michael Hutchence and INXS became one of my favourite bands and I too began to introduce others to the music. I remember in grade 11 at the age of 17, I did a project of INXS for my concert band class. At that time, Michael Hutchence was still alive and thanks to my sister, I had so much information about the band to choose from. Years and years later, while out of Canada for school, of which I still am, I continue to introduce others to Michael Hutchence and INXS. Upon hearing his voice and listening to the lyrics, many ask me “what are you listening to?” One of my closest friends out here is now a true and bonafide INXS fan, his favourtie song being 'Devil Inside'. When he asked me about the current status of the band and lead singer, I sadly told him the story or as much as I know of it. He, like other INXS fans out here, react sadly to hear that Michael Hutchence is no longer with us, even though they were first exposed to only a fragment of his work years after his death. The sound of his voice and his ability as a song-writer come through so clearly when I listen to INXS of the late 80's and early 90's. For me, I have never seen Michael Hutchence in concert, I have never met him and I became a fan of his long after many millions, however, when I listen to the original INXS, I always think of Michael Hutchence and wonder why such a talented, charismtic and handsome man was taken from the world, a world that loved him so much, so soon? If I can still feel a sense of loss, a simple fan from so far away, I send out a prayer for the family and friends of Michael Hutchence. I know that this will not be the first time it has been written and I know that it will not be the last but for you Michael Hutchence, I did not know you and I am not the loudest fan nor have I been a fan for as long as many others but you touched my life through your music, your voice and your pictures. I will continue to listen to your music and introduce others to the original INXS. The world certainly lost someone special on November 22nd, 1997 and I hope that you rest peacefully in paradise.
