I want to say thank you, Mr. Hutchence, for allowing us fans to celebrate Michael's life in this very touching way, and share in your sorrow at our terrible loss. I am truly, so very sorry. I am however happy that through YOU, we can feel like a small part of Michael is still with us via this website. I think he would've liked that.
I have always liked the music of INXS, but became a much bigger fan around the release of Elegantly Wasted. There was something about Michael that captivated me and drew me in. I had intended to see them in concert next time round, but sadly I was too late and now my chance is gone. I just want to say, that although I love their music, it is Michael that intrigued me so and led me to read up on the band, buy the CDs and find out more about this incredible person's life. When I visited Sydney for the first time in 1999, I felt compelled to visit his Memorial and pay my respects to this man I never knew, but would very much have liked to have known. I only had 4 days there in total, but felt strongly about visiting his memorial and seeing Rose Bay. I sat there on the bench, thinking about him and hoping that somehow he could hear my thoughts and know my sorrow at his passing. It is a beautiful tribute to a beautiful man. I was so saddened when I heard the news and for reasons I can't explain, I still think about him daily and feel drawn to finding out more about him and his life. Aside from his obvious charisma and sex appeal, I believe it was his “gentle soul” which I've heard spoken about so many times that moves me the most. It's often seemed to me that the most special people in life are the ones taken from us too soon. He obviously was a very special person and has touched my life from afar, and continues to do so. When I listen to his music, I feel like he is still with us, and I believe he is. He had the most incredible voice and was an amazing performer. (thank goodness for videotapes) I wish we could turn back time and bring him back to us, as there will never be another like him, but I am grateful for all that he gave us: his music, his time and I believe a piece of his soul in every show. I listen to his music daily, and by the way, love his new solo work. He is awesome! If only he could've realized just how much he is admired and loved by all of us. It breaks my heart to think about it now. His little Tiger is so beautiful and precious. I can see her Daddy in those gorgeous brown eyes. She is indeed his legacy and through her a part of Michael lives on... as he always and forever will in our hearts.
Thank you again so very much for sharing Michael with us in this very special way. I hope you will continue this webpage with updates of photos etc. It doesn't lessen the sadness in our hearts but it gives us another opportunity to celebrate his life and come together as friends. I think perhaps he is smiling down on us from above as we continue to remember him and pay tribute to his awesome talent. Warmest regards to all his family and friends who loved him so very much. Please know that we did too! Lee
