When I was a teenager, I had a best friend named Sarah. She and I loved INXS. We must have seen them in concert a dozen times. We saw them when they were still playing small concert halls in the States. I also remember Sarah and I getting up around 2 a.m. to watch the Australian Live Aid with INXS headlining. I cannot tell you what joy it brought us to listen to INXS' music and to watch the band live. Of course, Michael's presence and passion drew us in even further. My dear Sarah passed away in 1989. I could not bring myself to see INXS again in concert without her. Then, on Memorial Day weekend 1997, INXS was to play in Kansas City. At this time, I was engaged to my future husband, William. By the time I had heard of the concert, we had had plans to travel that weekend and would not be able to see the show. I told William, who is also a fan, that I had an urgent feeling that we should cancel the trip and see INXS. He assured me that I would see them again..... Unfortunately, that was the last time INXS came to my hometown. My William felt very guilty, but as I told him, I have wonderful memories of seeing Michael when the band was young. I know that Sarah is listening to Michael sing up in heaven right now. Thank you, Michael, for all of the wonderful memories.
