It's been 14 years now that I've been a fan of INXS. I was a teen when I first heard 'What You Need' on the radio. That voice was different, and it was wonderful. From that day on, I never left the band. I am a writer and Michael was the inspiration of one of my characters I named Dean. As I wrote for Dean, I had Michael in my head. If there ever was a movie made from one of my books, I would have wanted Michael to play the part. I think about him often, whathe contributed to the music industry, how happy he made his millions of fans. It's hard to think about him in past tense, it's almost surreal that he is gone. I feel, though, he is still with us, he is with his little girl and always will be. His legacy will live on in her. I was lucky enough to see him live with the band, and it was great. I will always have that special memory. My little boy is 4 and hears INXS as I play their music in my home. He knows who they are. He likes to dance around to 'Disappear'! I will always hold a special place for Michael in my heart. May he rest in peace.
