Rest in peace, Michael.
First of all, I would like to extend my sincere sympathy to Michael's family, friends, and bandmates of INXS. My thoughts and prayers have been with Michael and all of you all day. I can't imagine the sadness you must feel today. As a fan, I feel tremendous sadness and I never even met Michael. In fact I almost feel kind of foolish signing the guestbook since I never even knew Michael, but I think that is what was so special about him, that by his beautiful lyrics, music, and singing, he was able to connect with people-total strangers- and make them feel special and happy by listening to such wonderful, upbeat music. He always sounded like he was singing right in your ear. Michael and INXS have been part of the best times of my life, and now my 6 year-old is singing their music. I have read that Kirk has said that it was very important to Michael to know that they mattered as a band, that their music mattered. I'm sure that Michael is looking down on all of us and reading all of these beautiful messages and realizing how much their music mattered. I just wish that he could have seen that 9 years ago. It amazes me that 9 years after his passing, that thousands of people still remember him and take the time out of their busy schedules to sign Michael's guestbook. He is The Loved One and his music DOES matter. I still listen to it everyday. I pray that Tiger Lily will grow up to be a happy, wonderful, loving person like her Dad, and that she knows what he was like and how much he loved her. Thank you for this beautiful website. The tears just flow when I read all of these beautiful messages. My dream is to someday get to Australia to see where Michael and his bandmates called home, preferably in late January so I could celebrate Michael's birthday at the Hard Rock Cafe with Michael's friends and fellow fans.
Love and Peace, Michael. You will never, ever be forgotten.
