I would like to share my deepest sympathy to the Hutchence family. Please know that not only did the world love him for his music, I loved him for the hope he gave me. I had a very bad time as a teen, an alcoholic abusive step father etc etc etc. A sad story the same as a million others. I had heard of INXS and loved the music, one night I was at my Grandparents hiding out from the violence in my home. I had just gotten the Listen Like Thieves tape and popped it in my walkman. More than any artist before or since it was if that beautiful voice was speaking right to me. I will never forget that night. Instead of crying all night, I listened to the tape over and over totally engrossed. The problems in my life faded away. I was lost in that voice. I wish I can say that was the only night I spent that way but it was not. I am now all grown up and no longer in a bad situation but with all my heart I believe that the music of INXS and the Michael's voice in particular saved me. I had been a “cutter” the only way I knew to let all that pain out. After that one night I never cut again. When I felt the urge I just let myself be lost in the music. My heart bleeds for Michael's daughter, I hope that she knows how much of a difference her father made in so many people's lives. I also want to thank you for creating this site as a place to share memories and share in the loss of such a talented man who is so greatly missed.
