I was 12 years when I got my KICK k7...the first one I bought on my own, with my monthly Dad financed pay. Rock music had only begun to talk to my innerself, started to interest me. I remember so clearly listening to New Sensation on the radio, and then calling the radio to ask what was that, my voice must had been impossible do understand because the attendant said “ok, catch your breath and ask the question young man” I got the band's name, in my young mind it was so short for such a powerful music. The next day I ran to the store and got it, when I first played it and Guns in the sky blasted through the speakers, my mouth hit the floor, Michael's voice was like like a lighthouse spreading thunder, instead of light, throughout my room. I followed the band's carreer and was lucky enough to see them in Rio, a night I will never forget. I could say many things about the way Michaels voice and lyrics influenced me, but it all mounts up to this : his lyrics, voice and the band's music are a strong part of my influences as a poet, he touched me enough so that I wanted to writte poetry about it. Below there's a little poem of mine, I leave it here as my homage to him and to the freedom and free-spiritedness his words always mused me with, and I'm positive he continues to shine in the houses of evolution and enlightment, beyond of what our eyes can see, and to where we are all headed,if like him, we gather enough credit, ultimately.

Congregate the dreamers and let them feast,
I shall free my espine,
From everyday's tied rope of repetition,
Call the feeders of fire and let them scream,
Cut the wrists of anger,
Draw a new order with the ink of peace,
I urge you to be alive,
I'll give you a candle lit,
With the light of an ancient code,
“As I do to others, let it be done to me”
Climb the highest mountain,
To feel the smallest being,
Dettach from anything,
You ever felt you needed to be,
Come now,
Dance around the totem pole,
Let your wings blossom, dully spread,
Let your happiness be heard, everywhere.
If we gather enough children to play with us,
We can start a new game,
One to bring us together,
One to blend us all into an only celebration.
Let's go back to the garden inside us all,
A single heart,
A journey soul,
An innocent smile,
A ship of fools, yes,
but better ones,
Sailing to the dawn of love...
