It is with great respect and honor to be able to sign this guest book. I have long been an INXS fan. My husband is also a huge fan. So it simple to say that we were devestated over the death of Michae. There seems to be such a void in the music world today without his charm and presence on stage. We both had the extreme fortune to have attended two of INXS's last concerts the fall of 1997. We attended the Sept concert that year at the BEACON THEATER in NY. The concert was absolutely breath taking. Michael's presence on stage was outstanding. I can rememeger him like it was yesterday. It was the ELEGANTLY WASTED TOUR. The band was promoting the Elegantly Wasted Cd which of course was outstanding. I remember Michael coming out on stage in his black suit and red shirt and sunglasses. What a huge presence he was. Michael and the band brought the house down. He sang for what seemed like an eternity and no one wanted it to end. but sadly as all concert must it came to a close. But I will never forget that night at the Beacon Theater. But our pleasure did not end there. My oldest daughter is also an INXS fan but could not get to go that night. So we did the next best thing. We purchased tickets for their final performance of their tour in the Coca Cola theater in Pennsylvania. We drove all day to get there the day of the concert. I was so exciting to be seeing Michael with INXS again two weeks later after out experience at the Beacon Theater in NY.It was an outdoor theater and the night was clear and cool. Michael appeared on stage after the band memebers had taken their places. Michael rocked and sang for what seemed like an eternity. I didn't care. Michael could sign all night long. It was magical. I guess since this was the last concert date for the American tour Michael and the band didn't care how long they performed. Did Michael have a premontion that he would never be back. I don't know but the night was the best concert ever. I will never forget those two concerts. My daughter was able to purchase the soundtrack from that concert. I don't know where she got it but my husband and I play that cd and all the INXS cds all the time. I know that time heals all things but when we play INXS and hear Michael we know that no one will take his place. We know and respect that INXS needs to move on and make music again but there choice of a singer appears to be someone who is trying to be Michael and that will never happen. We will always have Michael in our hearts and his songs and music will always be playing somewhere in our lives.
We love and miss you MICHAEL
I hope you have found peace.
