POEM FOR A MAN
by l.r.d.
he struck me like a bolt of lightening, the first time i saw him.
he slinked on the stage, snake like...he jolted to the air...bird like.
i was drawn in..
my heart was hooked, my libido at risk...and to think..all this at 13.
and your voice just soared..to the heavens, to the tops of our universes...how was this possible?
not knowing how to handle this all, i let myself go and fall under the spell..
of a man destined for stardom, destined for glory..
destined for tragedy..
how unfair..how premature. i wish i could stop time, somewhere in the early 90's, when i saw your smile glow at its brightest..oh how i wish i had that power to do so..
so here i am, years later, still haunted.
and knowing, the heavens above have inherited a gift, unknown to mere mortals.
a gift i will not ignore...
