Remembering Kell Hutchence

Today is always very melancholy and reflective as we are always going to miss our dear friend, Kelland Hutchence who left this life on 12 December 2002.

In our hearts and minds we hear his laughter, his kind and thoughtful words, we remember his caring spirit. We see his smile and we are at least reassured that our sad loss has definitely been heaven’s blessed gain.

God bless and rest you well, dearest Kell. Our world is not the same without you but we will meet again one day.

To Michael

It’s November in Sydney and the beautiful Jacaranda blossoms again. Oblivious of the travails that have beset our world in the intervening twelve months. Fire, flood, drought, global pandemic, social and political unrest. And yet here again she showers her beautiful purple haze, and reminds us of that fateful November day 23 years ago when the world lost a beautiful and talented soul. Forever loved and forever missed.

Remembering…

The happiest I ever saw Michael was at his house in the South of France, where he was in his element, safe from the critical eye of the rest of the world, he could be himself, entertaining friends and family, telling stories, laughing, creating. That’s the memory of Michael I cherish the most – I wish more people could have seen that side of him.

Saskia Post 1962 – 2020

Saskia Post – Saskia Steenkamer was born in Martinez, California in 1961. Her Dutch parents moved between America and Japan, before settling in Australia in 1975. At high school she studied acting and singing and after completing high school she spent a year attending acting workshops and dance classes in Sydney.

Saskia then commenced a degree course in drama and arts at the University of New South Wales but gave it up after twelve months to attend a full-time course at The Drama Studio in 1981. Shortly after completing the course she obtained her first television role as Julianna Sleven, a Dutch refugee, in The Sullivans, an Australian drama television series about an average middle-class Melbourne family and the effect World War II had on their lives.

Post moved to Melbourne and worked on the series for twelve months before leaving in 1984 to take part in the John Duigan film, “One Night Stand”, where she played Eva, a Czech-born bank teller. In 1985, Post appeared in the AFI Award winning film Bliss, as Honey Barbara’s daughter.

This was followed in 1986 with a feature role in the Richard Lowenstein film Dogs In Space, a slice-of-life portrait of an odd assortment of characters populating a ramshackle house and Melbourne’s punk “Little Band” music scene in 1978. Saskia played Anna, the girlfriend of Sam (Michael Hutchence). She also made a cameo in Haydn Keenan’s film “Going Down” in 1982.

SaskiaPost also appeared in numerous stage productions in Melbourne and Sydney including “Hating Alison Ashley”, “Salome”, “Endgrain, “Train to “Transcience, “Could I Have this Dance?”, “In Angel Gear”, “Figures in Glass”, “Skin” and “Vincent in Brixton”. She also worked as an Transpersonal Art Therapist and educator.

Saskia passed away on 16th March 2020 in the Alfred Hospital ICU from a cardiac arrest.

RIP Andy Gill – Influential guitarist of Gang of Four

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of the founding member of British post-punk band Gang of Four.

Andy and his beautiful wife Catherine Mayer were great friends of Michael and Paula. He co-produced with Danny Saber Michael’s solo album.

He and Catherine are god-parents of Heavenly Hiraani TigerLily. I had the absolute privilege of spending time with Andy and Catherine during my many trips to London to see my step grand-daughter.

A gentleman through and through, Andy was also extremely erudite and of course musically, one of the greats of our time. My heart goes out to Catherine, the family and of course the band.

He will be missed more than words can say.

HAPPY 60th BIRTHDAY Brother

The world is not a better place since your passing.  Greed and war have all but destroyed our planet.
Yet thru the gloom and lies sparks growth.
I feel you’re loved more now than ever.
The way your music passes the test of time highlights the talent you continue to shine.
What a wonderful gift to the world.
I will be blasting you all day, bringing hundreds of wonderful, and funny memories, and I imagine tears for your early loss.
And what some may see as a loss, I see as a gain, in having known and shared soo much with you, the highs the lows, the laughter and tears, brotherly insight, brotherly advice and brotherly love, lots and lots of brotherly love.
Today is the celebration of you, your life.
Thank you for that
Always

Michael, the brightest star in the firmament

To my beloved stepson Michael. This twenty-second year of your passing has seen your star shine even more brightly then ever,  if that could be possible. I, plus a myriad of fans, new and old have had the very great pleasure of viewing Richard Lowenstein’s critically acclaimed documentary entitled “Mystify”. In it Richard has exposed the man behind the rock god, and what a sensitive soul resided there. Of all the words written and the films produced, this documentary produced with honesty and integrity, comes closest to revealing the real Michael Hutchence. Fans have also had the added bonus of viewing the cinema release of “Live Baby Live” showcasing INXS at its zenith. Shine on dearest Michael.
